I've only ever killed two deer with a recurve but those hunts and seasons were magical. I can't get the Bear Kodiak Magnum out of my mind. Every few months for years I've thought of going to one for the upcoming season. Driving me nuts! Someone pls tell me I'm not alone in this madness.

you are not alone. I have had a recurve in my cart for 2 weeks...every couple of nights I open the cart, look at it, read some more reviews, then watch some reviews on YouTube...then not pulling the trigger. I don't think I can hold out once it starts warming up and I can shoot outside.

The recurve I've had for like 15 yrs I actually got for my dad. It doesnt feel great in my hands. I want that Kodiak Magnum at like a 45 lb draw. Forgiving and smooth with a heavy broadhead. Dang its driving me crazy.

I'm probably going with one of the Sage takedown models. Much as I travel to hunt I need a takedown and for my first recurve since I was a kid I don't want to spend too much.

Thinking 45-50# with a 520gr set up. I've probably spent 10 hours this week researching broadheads.

Yeah, your not alone. I've done about the same thing as dnoodles to my shopping cart at 3Rivers. I have my riser picked out but have questions about limb choices that I have half heartedly researched bc I know once I just call 3Rivers I'll end up with a new bow.

Yep, absolutely been there. Ordered a recurve and two months later sold all 3 of my compounds. Its super addictive and just wrapped up my second trad only season. If anyone is considering it id highly recommend it. Feel free to shoot me a message and id be happy to talk on the phone and answer any questions I can!

Must be nice. Had a 45# Bear Kodiak, bought for $25 and sold it for same price. Same bow now costs over $400.

If you're gonna do it, do it now before your shoulders get messed up and you get too old to draw it.

All it needs is a d loop and a whisker biscuit and you will be driving tacks.

yeah...that's why I should probably stick with 45#. I started noticing a small impingement last season. Going to back off my compounds to 65# this year too.

I shot my recurve probably 20,000 times before I shot at my first deer. Missed my first three shots before I finally connected on a doe. The second year using it I fully committed to only using a recurve that season. I shot less and really focused on my form. Killed a doe on opening morning with my first shot. It is addicting and if you plan on using it in the woods, commit to it.

I switched out to a 60lb draw two years ago. The bow is a lot more fun to shoot and just as deadly.

Nothing as of yet but I'm settled on a DAS Dalla riser. Figuring out the limb stuff but 45# for this year and 55# next year. I always saw myself going back to trad and I'm not getting any younger. I have an old Black Widow but its practically an heirloom and I am currently shooting a Fleetwood I picked up a month ago. I've been shooting it daily and having fun but the bug has bit, minds made up. Pitter patter.
