I am hoping someone on this site can steer me in the right direction. I am hoping to do a diy hunt but do not know anybody that has hunted kansas and info is always key, atleast a steep in the right direction. Any info or maybe even somebody local who will self guide would be great.

If you want to hunt public look at maps, pick a spot then scout it out. You can narrow down “good” areas from maps, but nothing beats boots on the ground. If your limited on time call outfitters and see if they offer DIY or unguided hunts. All the info is at your fingertips just have to make the moves..

A good strategy for public land is to hunt buck beds, you can find where these might be on a map but of course you need boots on the ground too. I talk all about it in my article,
