Festivities are over for the day and I’m packing my truck for a trip to camp with the guys for our annual late season flintlock hunt. So excited!! Almost like opening day of archery season...... nah but close. Three days of pushing deer around potter county. Always fun and usually very productive. Can’t remember a year when there was anyone in camp who didn’t let the smoke fly at least once. Honestly I feel like I would have a better chance with my bow but it has been designated by the camp captain as flintlock only so we give it a whirl. Time will tell if we can get another one in the freezer. Good luck to anyone still at it looking for meat

Good luck on the trip, sounds like alot of fun!

I went out with a muzzle loader for the first time in probably 6 years last week. I ended up shooting a fawn that was wounded. Had a big hole in its front leg and was limping really bad. Not the deer I wanted, but still had fun.

Well I’m officially done hunting for the year. Didn’t bring one home from my trip but boy was it fun. Missed a big doe at about 75 yards with the smoke pole. Ended up getting 2 deer for 9 guys with 17 shots fired in 3 days. I saw 32 deer on the last day. Can’t believe it’s over already. Now the preparation begins for next year.
Good luck to guys still hunting!!! Few more weeks until contest is over.

Well you still had a great season! 17 shots is a lot for flintlock, but sounds like alot of fun! I'm still hunting to the end and won't give up. Still have high hopes for a buck, it just might be down to the wire.

I still haven't been able to get a deer with my bow. I did however have the privilege of being in the stand with my oldest granddaughter the day after Christmas. She harvested a big bodied deer with her 6.5 creedmore. Turns out it was a buck that had already dropped one side. This is her third deer of her short hunting career. She wants to go back next weekend for the late youth hunt. [IMG]

It is a lot but some of the people that were with us think they are hunting with scoped rifles and take some shots they maybe should not. I saw 5 different bucks in 3 days. One of them was this guy which my niece actually missed later in the drive. My brother was sitting with her and got this pic from the Tactacam footage IMG_1019.JPG
He’s a giant for anywhere let alone the mountains of potter county.

Shot a doe last night and posted on board.

Our season goes on for a few weeks, but I got two deer and plenty of meat in the freezer, so I am calling it a season.

Good luck to those still out there trying to fill tags.

Brad are you going to be at the Lancaster classic with the crew? Wasn’t sure if you got to travel to ATA and things if this sort.

I noticed scores were updated today but my doe was not included. Add her in and we are in 4th place I believe.

I saw scores also and thought something wasn’t right but wasn’t sure what it was. Not sure if e can catch them anymore but sure looks better being on leaderboard.

Actually just did the math. I think your points were added but name wasn’t put on the list.

Yeah, our team score was correct, I just forgot to add that last doe in the list.

And yes, I'll be at Lancaster with Justin and Todd.

Sounds Good! I'll technically be "working" so I apologize in advance if I can't talk much!

One of my shooters made it through the season. My brother found one of his sheds today. He should be a toad this fall![IMG][IMG]
