Which broadhead do y'all recommend? I need a good FIXED BLADE cut on contact broadhead. Expanding broadheads are forbidden here in Idaho - period. My compund bow (Diamond Razor Edge) is presently set with a maxed out draw weight of 62.5 pounds. However, because I am deformed, the draw length is only 23 (twenty-three) inches. Using 480 grain (total weight) arrows, my arrow speed is somewhere between 190 and 195 FPS. (I don't recall the exact chrino'd speed.) It is nowhere near "fast". The last thing I desire is to shoot some critter and have my arrow bounce off. I won't be taking any shots beyond 20 to 30 yards, due to the risk of my arrow failing to penetrate so much as a fraction of an inch.
I’ve had good success with G5 Montec. I have an extra pack. Send me your address and I will send to you to try out.
I’ve been using the montec for years. Never any issues and most importantly they fly great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SlickTrick ViperTrick, Magnus Stinger or Iron Will. For what you’re going to be hunting, I’d carry the Iron Will or Stinger. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I shoot the G5 Montecs and never had a problem. Im thinking about switching over to slick tricks as well.
Your setup will be plenty. It’s good to see folks that don’t fall for the desire to chase speed. To many people with shorter dL lighten the arrows to gain what they feel is respectable speed. Momentum is where it’s at and with 480 grains and a coc head, you are on the right track my friend. Let us know when you zip an arrow through something. Merry Christmas and good luck. I'm currently using Dirtnap DRT's and cant complain. They are accurate and sharp, I looked at them wrong the other day and got cut. Highly recommend.
I'm a fan of Wasp heads. The chiseled points are ground to match the blades giving them a cut on contact quality to add to the bone busting chisel tip Sent from my 5059S using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I have been very impressed with magnus. My son shoots them with a shorter draw length and his poundage around 40# and they zip right thru deer at 25 yards.
Slick trick standard and Magnus Stingers are very good heads. I’ve never had any problems with either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Slick Trick makes a cut on contact broadhead? What does it look like ? Never seen a pic of one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I happen to love COC heads because I hunt boar and the extra penetration is always welcomed. I found lots of great choices. I started with Solids Legends with bleeders. They were sold and price raised. Next I tried Carbon Express XT, they too have a nice bleeder. German Kinetics began making Silverflames in Germany and I bought a boatload of them including 175 grain XXL with an almost 2 inch cut. Best steel and sharpness I’ve encountered on a head. Expensive but worth it. Lastly I stumbled onto Carbon Express Pile Driver 150 grain 1.5 inch cut. I think Carbon Express upon being sold, discontinued broadheads ? So I’ve been buying these up as much as I can. $23 for 3. Great value on a superb cutting devastating head. I love them on my Easton 5mm 340 spine Full Metal Jacket arrows. I mean serious damage. Thanks man. I saw those before, read the write but didn’t consider them a true COC because of the blade design. Deadly heads. I use the Magnums and they kill it !!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
