I’ll finally be back in the stand this weekend barring nothing happens at work! Lease bound now!

I may go ahead and count my other doe from earlier in the season to help out in points. I still plan on hunting, but honestly at this point with the holidays and everything else coming up, it will be very tough. I may resort to gun hunting, I've yet to ever fill my buck tag on my Tx lease in 5 years of hunting it and at this point I'm ready to get some antlers on the ground and break that curse.

Just got back from Oklahoma. Ended up killing two doe but saw a ton of deer. Entered my 50 points.

Hoping to get back there after the first of the year but will be hunting locally until then

    Love that one!
There's a very outside chance my season is not yet done. Hope to get out there before the end of January.

Hats off to anyone still at it

If I'm not mistaken you are unable to enter a 2 ND Doe for the contest. Sorry you may want to delete that post in the score card thread

50 points entered for the team and my freezer is full! Two shotgun bucks and a nice doe. My season is now over. On to shed hunting.

Made it out in VA this afternoon- met up with Virginia Shadow (great dude) walked around a lot, saw one doe (no shot) then a buck on the way out after dark. Got a few more sits in me yet.

My season is over, ended today! Sad to see it go... next deer season will be quite interesting. My wife surprised me serval weeks ago and we will be expecting our fist child in August. May not get to do much bow hunting next year

Back from a very successful trip to Oklahoma! I left New Orleans after work on Thursday and drove through the night. The first two days (4 hunts) I saw lots of deer, some very good deer but no shots on shooters. That all changed on Sunday morning. 20 minutes before first light I hear a deer walk up. I can see the silhouette but can't make out what it is. By the time shooting light came, I had 4 deer (all bucks) under me. As they trickle off the fields, the deer seemingly never stopped. By 7:45 I had SEVENTEEN deer in front of me (3 were does). I finally have an older buck step out and decide to take him. I was somehow able to draw and not spook anything with all of those eyes around. The arrow found it's mark, tad higher than I wanted but it did the job.

After seeing that many deer Sunday morning, I would be a fool not to go back to that stand right?

As I sit there in the dark, see the orange glow of the sun riding on the horizon, I am yet to see a deer. I was spoiled from yesterday.... Then it happened. 3 bucks and a doe. More bucks. 2 more does. All 2.5 year old and less. I was holding off for something better. I am watching these bucks mill around, feed, and check does just in case when I hear some branches breaking. Slowly turning my head I catch the glimpse of a nice buck making a scrape right behind me. I told myself that I would take this deer if I had an opportunity. He stayed back there a while. Deer are still filtering in when I see the body of a deer that was significantly bigger than the rest. I take a good look at him and see he's a real nice 8pt and he had my heart pumping. I took a 17 yard shot and put it through the boiler room!

These deer are remarkably similar. I thought for sure that Monday's deer was bigger but they are close. Either way, I am stoked!

Moments before TEN more deer showed up. I slid my phone out of my pocket for a quick pic, which is why the quality is meh (buck I shot is not in the pic)

Awesome ! Congrats on a very successful hunt.

I'm curious to see how we look after our recent points are added to score sheet. I'm thinking if we can get a few more does on the board, we'll be right there!

How many people here haven't shot a doe?

I feel like shooting 1-2 does is a requirement for every season lol

I haven't due to my son also hunting and we have three deer in the freezer. I was gifted a sausage stuffer for Christmas so I plan on making a bunch a deer brats and freezing so I will probably shoot one more before season ends.
