The last few years I've had problems with the same group of dog runners circling our farm and pushing it for deer or coyotes or anything they can shoot at when they know we aren't around. We have caught them numerous times, chewed their a**es and put up signs everywhere to keep them away. I'm all for people killing coyotes, but not trespassing and treating someone elses property like your own. Also the fact they have been told many times to stop, we know who they are. I've contacted the DNR but doubtful they can help.
Dogs are protected here and my head would be on a platter. Trust me I would love to sit in stand and pick of every one. But it isn't the dogs fault either. Just doing what they are told.

The F&W people should take over here. Trail cameras would be good but stake-out would be much more profitable. We show a video in our hunter ed classes of the agency using Robo-deer. It is amazing how people deliberately break the law...and with kids in the vehicle, sometimes kids doing the shooting from a vehicle!
As a bowhunter and a life long deer dog man, I am sorry you have this issue. I know that running deer with dogs is illegal in most states, but not so in the south and we really don't have much of a problem where I hunt with any of this.. We have enough land that we don't have to turn dogs out on someone else's land. And you are correct about not shooting the dogs. That's big time jail time. If you have contacted the game commission then allow them the chance to fix it, keep calling daily if you have to.
I will let the CO take the case for now. I'm just tired of constantly having to tell these guys to scat and then confrontations every single year. Multiple times a year. Its not like that accidentally ran dogs across property lines. They come here and do it out of retaliation because we caught them once and wouldn't give them permission to hunt it again. Kinda unnerving when you're in the woods hunting or cutting woods and a group of guys and dogs circle you and start pushing in and shooting.
Get a few Turkish Kangals. They will rip their dogs in half and then it’s not your fault..... just joking. Kinda.
Trail cams in trees hidden to take pics of them. Over and over. Post your land. Then call the police after you get proof. If nothing is done then go to your local government leaders and tell them these guys are dangerous and running dogs and shooting over your land. Also enlist the help of the Wildlife Officers. If they dont help, write, or go in person to the highest ranking person in charge with your complaint.
My wife used to have a mare that would take care of the situation she tolerated noting in her pasture she piss pounded anything dog or deer.
Invest in a cellular cam and call every time they are trespassing. Request the Sheriff do premise checks and identify/cite those involved. *Keep all those records in case you need to prove the ongoing harassment. Have the 911 center on the phone next time there’s contact so it’s recorded. The squeaky wheel gets the oil. Good luck, keep YOURSELF safe.
I think I've tried just about everything to keep dogs off my place. Spoken with dipchit owners, put out cayenne laced raw meat, put out raw meat w/ ipecac or exlax, shot at 'em and chased them off on a quad. Called the Sheriff, no lease law in effect. I felt a little powerless right up until trapping season began. My place is clearly posted, not the law but more of a courtesy. I have a trap line that mirrors the road and if your dog is in it when the coyotes discover it, it's not my problem. I also set a few cams out with the hopes of catching the neighbor in question destroying my trap sets, this will be a clear case of hunter harassment and we can have our day in court. Lot of work to go through just to keep a pack of dogs off my place but I'll just keep draining their pocketbook until they see it my way. It sucks and you are right, it's not the dogs fault. I've also considered another route, Donkeys. We have a bunch out with a cattle herd in SW Oklahoma and you can go out and find coyotes with their heads kicked in all day, every day.
The neighbor crossed the road set out traps to possibly catch one of those dogs as well since they are trespassing his way as well. I'm thinking about it
