Buying a set of Vortex Binoculars for my dad for Christmas. Was looking at the Crossfire HD. Does anyone have experience with these binoculars and how do you like them? Thanks for any information!

My son has a pair of these binocular and they are good binoculars. The optics are clear, bright and well made. Normally you can find them on sale. I also have 2 pairs of Leupold (BX-1 McKenzie and BX-2 Acadia) Binoculars. In my opinion, the Leupold Binoculars are brighter and clearer than the Vortex. That being said I would be happy with either.

Thanks for your input. I have some Leupold that I really like as well. Dad has been looking at the Vortex for some time and liked the idea of having a lifetime warranty with them.

In that case, get him what he wants. He deserved it.

Have you ever tried the binoculars with night vision functions? I've heard about it. But I am wondering if the night vision function will influence the brightness and clarity of the images during daytime.

You can’t beat the crossfire 8 x 42. Awesome glass for the money. I have Nikon monarchs and would not spend the money again now that I know what vortex brings to the table. Great gift. Merry Christmas.

If you haven’t bought them yet check out D!icks they have some good prices on binos. I have the crossfire in 10x42 and they are awesome. Plus you can’t beat the warranty. [IMG]
