Howdy fellas, it’s been a while. Little update, I’ve been walking on my own for the last couple weeks with no walker assistance. On wednesday I have an appointment to talk about the plan of attack to fix the acl and whatnot for my knee. Hopefully I get it in before the end of the year so insurance covers the whole deal. Really debating on strolling into the woods this weekend for the gun season with the bow! Figured I’d show off the hardware in there already. If you ever get the chance to break your femur, DON’T lol Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Good advice! Well good luck, hopefully they can squeeze you in before the end of the year. “Deductible December” is always crunch time. I hope your able to get out this weekend and put the smash on something. Wouldn’t that be great. Thanks for the update.
Had a good sit tonight guys. Came a couple steps away from letting one fly on multiple occasions on a solid 10 point. He just didn’t give me a shot. Good reminder it can happen at any time. Stay after em!
That looks like it hurt!!! I'll definitely take your advise when it comes to breaking my femur. I'm OUT!!! Dan is right! It can happen at any time! I'll be back at it Thursday for the managed hunt. The weather is great here today and I'm at work. Keep after it guys. Season isn't over yet. We still have time to surprise everyone!!
Went out last night Saw 2 doe 45 yards to the non-shooting side of the tree Hung around for 4 mins & went back into the trees Trying again tomorrow night when the temps drop 30 degrees Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Uh so close, stay after em! The gun season has the deer all buggered up in my neck of the woods. They will get a short break from me as I have a conference for work coming up. Hopefully they will be back on their normal feeding routine soon. A little colder weather and some snow will help out too. Good luck guys!
So,..... I haven't been hunting much. I saw deer on my trip to Arkansas but I decided to pull the plug early and come home to hunt but nothing is moving on my property during shooting light. Yesterday the wife and I met my brother and his wife at Silver Dollar City and had a great time. I'm not a theme park person because I don't like crowds, but I did have a good time. Tomorrow I will finally be heading back to Kentucky to hunt a few days with my bow. The bucks are still moving there and I still have my buck tag. After that I will be going back to Windsor, Missouri on the 13th to hunt with my son-in-law again. The bucks moved out when the orang assault began but they are coming back in now and I still have one Missouri buck tag. Kentucky's muzzleloader season opens on the 14th so as soon as I get back from Windsor I'll wash my gear and head back to Kentucky. I'm not sure about the next two trips but unless I just don't feel like shooting does I guarantee you that deer will die if I have my TC Encore in Kentucky. Muzzleloader season opens on the 28th here in Missouri so I have that to look forward to and then I will still have the late season in Arkansas. Being retired is pretty awesome.
As long as the trip doesn't fall through we will plan on it Would Friday or Saturday evening be better for you and your family?
Ok guys My 18 year old carter release has had the pickle I lost my other 18 year old carter release somewhere in Utah in September So, I am asking for suggestions reference a new release (trigger style). I always buy two just in case stuff like this happens Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hey Brett sorry to hear about your releases. I wish I had one I felt strongly about. Congrats to Carter aka Foodplot for putting 50 points on our scorecard for a doe. Meanwhile LC is stacking up deer like wood. What’s the total up to Johnny? I hope to be back at on Sunday. The gun season has them all buggered up anyway. One of my talented prospects didn’t show up last night. I’m hoping he made it through the last day of the first gun season. Stay after em guys!
I have decided on the Carter 2 shot. I had been using the 1 shot for 18 years and the webbing just wore out.
