I was just adding up my actual stand time so far this season, and I've spent 112 hours in the woods. Maybe my most in a season. This was 21 sits of various durations (3-12 hours). I haven't seen a lot of deer this season, but I had my chance at a really good (for my woods) buck, let a smallish 8pt at 10yrds walk (took video), and killed a doe. All in all, I've had a good season so far. I'm letting the gunners have at it for now, then I'll have late season starting day after Christmas.
Good luck to those still trudging along, and be safe! :tu:

Mission accomplished. Snow was only boot top deep. Making tracks back to a buddies place to sit the last 90 minutes.

I wish ! Not in NYS. You have to have pics of the actual person on the land . This owner refuses to divulge the names of the hunters. Where they were trespassing and shooting on us last year , I built a hundred yard brush pile fence 10 - 15 yards off my line then set up a short 5 ft raised blind at the end. No more quick drags and I changed deer movement. They had to move stand. This spring A welded wire fence goes up along the stone fence they keep crossing over. Then to keep deer moving on us where I want I'll be building an enclosed tower blind with tinted windows several yards past where I end the fence. This will keep them from being able to shoot in that direction. This will again change the deer movement because I have prepped several trail plots leading to interior feed plots . I'm also doing timber management to improve bedding on us. Thank heavens our son is heating with wood, not pellets now. I'll also have cams at end of fence areas as I do on other fence ends.

What is stupid about this is these guys have less respect for the people allowing them to hunt their land than they have for me. They refuse to do as the owners ask to avoid neighbor tensions. The owners don't hunt! Yet I'm the one they are PO'd at. Gee can you imagine if I was willy nilly wondering around their place ,gun in hand not knowing where anyone else may be on their place?

I’m pretty happy to say I was almost off the grid hunting today. My phone barely worked so I couldn’t update live.
Finally dropped a nice doe so tenderloin for breakfast Sunday and the freezer gets a new pile of meat.
    Back in the woods tomorrow.

Good luck to all those hunting.
