That's what I had just done. Added a few more cams and changed to a few new spots. Not giving up, just putting my wallet up and no longer buying in to all these deer expert bs.

People bumped deer walking in for lunch. If I hunt in a high pressure area, i go in at 15 or 45 after because people typically leave on or half past the hour and bump deer walking in.

If I had brought my bow or carry piece, I’d have one in the fridge.... but a .30-06 wouldn’t leave much

So I had to have venison steak subs on a Costanza roll with an Italian aioli and caramelized onions with provolone cheese.... it was rough, but I managed to get a couple down ::D:

Followed with some ice cold carbonated beverage... ***BURP***

My daughter just sent me this pic.

My grandson got the Red Ryder BB gun out of the safe and said he was going to go kill a "big burk".

Last two sits have been pretty demoralizing.
I have to kill some doe so I think it’s time to get back into the game and get some confidence back with a doe smack down.
    Yup that’s your grandson!

I haven't had any pics from my cell cams in Ohio for several days now. That always makes me think they're not working. But I doubt they would both quit working at the same time.

Ive got my four wheeler loaded and I'll be leaving shortly to set up back in "my" valley in Mark Twain National Forest.

I'm going I give my home spot a break. If I don't kill a buck there today, tomorrow or Tuesday (the last day of gun season) I can get back after the one here with my bow after the orange assault has ended.

Eye of round (venison)semi frozen and then put through a deli type meat slicer. Stacked with waxed paper between slices and frozen. Defrost and flash cooked in butter on hot cast iron pan. Don't forget a large thin sliced portabella mushroom and dash of worcestshire sauce.

About 2 hours of hiking and not finding much. Couple old scrapes that had leaves in them. One of them was dug 4" into the ground! Just heading to a hardwoods point that I found a couple beds on them back in the winter. So faint trails leading to them, so there was some deer recently.

Ok guys need your help. Got pics of the 10 last night coming off the nieghbors at 4 am. Which is his usual route through our place ..been through last 3 nights same route. Have son on him tonight but thinking I want to try the decoy and scents ,calling tomorrow morning and or night in that area. I don't know his route or time back to their santuary. I told Son to try the gully as a way back to them tonight or a route to the gully then corn for tonight.
Swear to God he gets wider every time I get a pic.
So buck or doe decoy rattling or doe bleats hot doe urine? At this point I'll try anything to see him in day light on us. Well besides baiting...though he's liking that plot and those tiny turnips. Many have filled their buck tags and have left so there is hope.

I nees to do a better job while im scouting, found this spot last week and was all excited about it but now that I'm here it's not that great looking. Im gonna stay if for no other reason then to rule it out. It could still happen though!

Never know, one of my older ones quit on me back in the beginning of November. It won’t be long before the others need some fresh batteries. The App seems pretty useless for monitoring that. The last status report was fine but sure enough they were toast.

Just took my Cuddeback out of the woods after about 6 or so years of service. She provided me with some neat pics over the years. Longest lasting cam I ever had. I shall miss her.
I relocated my Covert a little deeper into the thick stuff, along a trail. I'll let it sit for a couple weeks to see what made it through the first season.

I am up. Back in a river bottom bedding area. Hoping the last week of gun season on the private land has pushed the deer back into this archery only public. About three hours until dark.
