Looks like Thursday and Friday were pretty hot here. Unfortunately my biggest target buck is gone already but there a heavy 8 that’s around.

Our regular season opens this Saturday.... good day to stay out of the woods. I usually hunt KS the third week of Nov but I couldnt fit it in this year.
    Good luck everyone!

I went out this morning and sat in a spot I have on the ground, I have cam near by and about every morning does come through. I wasn't there an hour when a 3 year old eight point can strolling by. I have this deer on my other cams on this propter by my house and I never seen him on this cam. I let him walk and of corse I didnt see any does. I am sure some yahoo will take a crack at him opening day this saturday. I am disappointed I am not going too be in KS next week to miss the **** show in NY

Leaving for camp tonight as rifle starts in the morning. Will score him as soon as I get a chance

    Dammit team.
I thought this spot was a sure bet tonight. I had a stand about 75 yards away I put up in summer. Sat one nite about a week ago with an iffy wind. Seen 7-8 deer but just their backs as they went through a dip. Could tell there was a scrape by their body/ tail language but that's all.
Moved the stand a few days ago closer and sure as chit there was a scrape. This is in a cane grass swamp where I've never seen a scrape so was excited.
Normally, this is a poor time to hunt scrapes but it's such a perfect travel route.
Seen 2 does n 1 fawn. Fell through the ice crossing the river but got lucky and scrambled my fat ass up before I got wet.
May try again in the morning if winds are good.

Been seeing some damn fine 140-170 inch deer most every day for a week while driving just not out of a stand.
I'm hop- scotching stand over a big area trying but things just ain't clicking yet.
Great buck Atlasman! I'd pincushion him in a heartbeat this year!

Another day of frustration. Saw 2 little bucks chasing each other around at 9 am. Nothing else came by. All. F-n. Day. I'm taking my daughter tomorrow morning to the slam dunk stand. If we don't kill something then, it's not meant to be. Shotgun season opens Friday, so I'll probably lower the bar tomorrow .

BBM, I'm in the same boat this year.
Common to pass on 30-50 bucks a year. I can hardly buy one this year.
Sat in a great stand tonight. Seen ONE fricken deer, a decent buck at 60 yards.
To the point now I just wanna kill something. anything:throw:

Sorry I’ve been incognito for a bit. I’ve been slammed with work and have had no days off until yesterday. Spent most of yesterday catching up on things around the house and then had a local deer camp get together to help prepare for yesterday afternoon. As I got ready to leave my house to go to my neighbor’s for the shindig I saw a big deer bedded in my field right across the creek. Grabbed my binos and identified him as a mature 8 that is the biggest buck I’ve had pics of this year on my property. I eased outside and got to within 120 yards of him by skirting around the house. He got up and was just pacing around in my hay field. I could have easily shot him with a rifle. Quickly figured out that he was with a doe. She looked pretty tired and roughed up so I’m guessing that maybe they had already been together for a while. At any rate I’m going to go over there and try to hunt this afternoon if the wind stays right. I have bigger deer to hunt elsewhere but I figure with my limited time to hunt I’d better give it a try.

Gun season is still on here ...well it goes like 28 freaking days and you wonder why the deer hunting sucks. Any way I am staying clear of the woods. I checked my cards around the house and have not had any pictures of my good one since two days before the gun opener. I hope he is still alive. But I have no delusions that any of the nitwits around here would lay off a good three year old 8 point.
Any way I am making bigos tomorrow...I will post some pictures.

Got permission on an ultra- superb piece of property last week.
    Hung a stand.
Got in at 2:45 and had a huge doe come by at 3:00.
Really had no intention of shooting a doe but I did not take my regular scent control regiment and she was going downwind. It was kill her and fill my last doe tag or have her bust me and start the woods on fire with snorting.
The shot was about 8-9 yards.
Had her loaded up, and hanging and at the local bar for a beer before dark- thirty:moose:
