Been a fun morning. Could see a buck and does working a fence line, came right in to a bleat call. 4 does with 2 yr old in tow. He gets a pass today. Another doe worked back around in behind me shortly after. [IMG][IMG]

I’ve heard about four shots all morning. One was pretty close and three does came hauling by. No doubt in my mind that deer numbers are way down and Hunter numbers also. The hotel I stay yet you were lucky to get a room a few years ago, now they’re lucky if it’s half full.
    Things have certainly changed

I think one or both other hunters shot. One I'm pretty certain was them. The other may have been just acrossed the line.

The dad said they were holding out for a shooter buck until tomorrow afternoon. Curious t o see/hear what they shot.

Had at least 3 antlerless coming down hill downwind, caught my scent and turned around and ran down other side

I’d be happy to see a deer at this point. I’m almost ready to go take a nap in the truck

Gonna give it a shot around 3 this afternoon. See if I can catch a good shooter moving, but for now I'm at work.

Didn't see squat this morning. Made it back to truck around 10. Heard 8 or 10 shots pretty slow but was windy, supposed to lay as day goes so I'll head back out on little bit. Warmer up and getting some lunch

Moved to other end of property. Should have been here from the start.

Wind in my face, bedding in front of me and thick and nasty. Left bow on the ground.

When climbing down other stand, had bow half way to ground and look down trail. Doe etanding there aboit 55yds staring at me. Got bow to the ground and pistol out. White flag waving.

They were coming in downwind. Just aboit called it a day, but so many fresh scrapes.

Bucks have to be moving and this is where I'll kill him.

Three straight sits with minimal deer seen and no big bucks. It’s tough when there’s still standing corn on our property and the adjoining. The deer are living in there.

Already seen first deer. Small antlerless coming down my entry path.

North wind in my face switched east. Gone.

    Stupid wind

Into the blind at sunrise. Heard a few shots on the neighbors farm but only one spike seen by 5 hunters.
    Sad.

This B&C squirrel might get GOT!

Just got set up. Timing was good on the rain, it stopped as I was on my way in. Perfect NW breeze. Let the games begin!

I'm up and ready. It's time to stop taking it easy and get serious again.
