I hit and did not recover 2 this season Tony. That’s more in one year (so far! Season not even over yet!!) than I have lost in the past 8 or so yrs. I was really down on myself and had to take a day and a half off that I planned to be in the woods. I cleaned my truck out, got all my gear reorganized, and had a long talk in the mirror. I missed the first one cause I shot through a hole at last light I knew I shouldn’t have. The second was a gear malfunction. I should have wrapped my bow arm in that puffy jacket like I used to do with a camo wrap. I do think it’s easy to get lax over time in all aspects of this game if you let yourself. “Oh it’s not quite the right wind for that stand but it might be ok”, or, “I haven’t shot my bow in awhile but it should be on even though I’ve taken it on 10 outings up and down out of stands and in and out of trucks and boats etc.” Idk those are just a couple of many examples of how you can slip on your game and fall into the category of a “slob hunter”. Ok if I veered off into left field I’m sorry but just needed to get this off my chest cause I’m sure a lot of us on here can relate to what got me this year

I’m up for PM shift. This stand should be OK for this wind cough cough. I have the crossbow, I bought a second tag and I’m not to far from the truck. Come on PM shift let’s do this!

Hey guys and gals. Been in since 1330. Getting caught up here. Sorry Tony, hate when that happens but we've all been there.
I love taking my kids out, they are only young once. Sadly I couldn't figure out the Does till after I brought them back to VT, felt bad I couldn't get James on one but I'll know for next year.

You're right on the money. It is getting lost in today's society, and it is important!

Rubs to my left, rubs to my right. Shootable open hardwoods to my left, power line to my right. Bedding above me, creek behind me. Sitting in the climber in a Hickory tree with lots of nuts still falling. Saw two doe on the power line on the way in, but I'm buck hunting. Well it is the last afternoon of my 9 day rutcation and I haven't loosed an arrow since September, so who knows.

New guy next to our lower swamp property..postage stamp lot with a postage stamp house. 3 kids ,pregnant wife and himself with 2 indoor dogs... Has 6 vehicals lining tiny drive and road. I drive by slow but couldn't see anything...these type of guys wear total camo in gun. Wish camo in gun was law here. I'm too exhausted from hunting to go down the hill and check. I use this as a santuary. Looks like I'm building a raised blind there this spring.. With the south East winds of the last three years it would be a good thing. All I need is 250 ft for cross bow and 150 for bow to hunt it. 411 ft wide so good to go. I won't play games with this guy just nip it in the bud. Retractable and locked ladder and tinted windows. Then I can drive down with Gator and park on nieghbors across street.

Also I'm about 300yds from the Park cut corn. Maybe one of the big boys will cruise by in daylight on the way there.

I had a guy actually cutting up downed trees on the land I mentioned in previous post. I tracked his wheel barrow tracks back to his trailer. All my wood neatly stacked on his deck. There was an Irish, native american , English nuclear explosion unleashed upon him and his wife . Whom made the mistake of opening her donut stuffed, literal, mouth. Excuse..it was just laying on the ground.. WTH!!! He walked past 3 posted signs to get to it!
