Well, my son has had multiple opportunities to kill deer but passing on does in a prime buck spot showed good judgement on his part. I moved him to a new spot this afternoon and he had a six point come in to 37 yards. He ranged it and his range finder said 25 yards because he had the crosshairs on a limb or leaf between him and the buck. He shot way low and he couldn't understand what had happened until he looked again and saw the limb. He still has one more day and I'll keep trying to get him on one but it's not looking good. As far as the camper goes, it's fine now. I managed to get it thawed out and we are all good.
Yep. I've been there too. I'm kinda surprised we survived -1 degree wind chills in a travel trailer with the only inconvenience being the inability to take a shower the next morning. That thermal package was worth the money.
No worries Adam. I didn't check real close, I just thought Russ shot his after you and his is scored and adjusted. It's all good.
I'm in the stand for a little mid-afternoon hunt. We have hockey again tonight. I can stay fairly late just not until dark. Hopefully something comes by.
Glad to see you guys doing well out there. Still recovering from my wreck and would kill to be in the woods the last couple weeks up here in NW Pa. We have about 6 inches of snow on the ground and the temps have risen to around 30-35. My buddy has been hunting out of my stand during the morning sits and has consistently seen about 4 shooters out at about 40-50 yards every sit. Hopefully he hits one and hooks me up with a little meat to get me through the winter lol. Good luck fellas and happy hunting! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Good to hear from you. I feel for you man this is a tough time of year to be sidelined. With any luck you can help us defend our title as returning champs next year! I'm hoping to hit it hard this weekend. Unless something changes at work I hope to get a couple hours in tomorrow morning before work and after. Still in buck only mode until gun season opens. Good luck guys.
It is not hunting related but if you are married....you will understand https://1funny.com/women-know-things-that-men-dont-fred-klett/
Well I hope y’all have a successful weekend in the stands. I am building fence after I get back home today from San Francisco.
Well I've been covered up in doe and that probably explains the lack of big bucks on the property leading into the season. I'm going to try and hold out for a buck over the next week but I need to start killing some doe. One of the better bucks on the property is pretty busted up so he won't do much score wise for us. I'm still hoping for a good buck but at this point but if it doesn't happen soon I'm not to hopeful. That being said if we manage to put a couple more deer on the scorecard and stay within striking distance I will definitely do whatever is necessary. I'm not above a Fergie. Good luck guys!
Pretty nice weather here today. I hunted for a little bit before our oldest ones hockey game. Once we got home I decided to work around the farm. Needed to do some work just to get caught up. I'm back to work Monday. Plenty of time left to kill. Keep at it guys! Sent from my SM-G965U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Hey Guys, Sorry I haven't been on here for a long time. I just posted my IL buck kill and a doe kill so we have some more points. Congrats to you successful hunters. Been grinding for a WI buck but just not meant to be.
Hey guys, sorry I haven't been very active this year. I had a couple of trips planned and things happened outside of my control and I haven't been able to get out. I still hope to fill a couple tags late season.
