Great buck cls74. Tried following along from the stand but it was to cold to have phone out besides the server kept taking a dump. Hunted from 6 to 12 saw 1 red squirrel and 2 little birds. I had such a good time I’m going back there in 45 minutes.

Well I'm going rogue. Going in a part of the park I've never hunted. Going in blind. Its thick. Climber on my back. I'll be looking for good sign and a good tree and then setting up.

The sled is fine actually, it 5 1/2 feet long. In that pic I had to stop and readjust him as his rack dug into the grass and snow and was about to dump him out.

Went down a hill and he damn near overtook me right into a 7 foot dropoff into a creek. Next tike taking the straps and buckling it in.

Oh yeah, forgot the shot placement pic. Was high, but still good.

Found the arrow after 15yds and started to get worried thinking he stopped and ripped it out, bottom half was covered, top not so much.

Nit sure I'm digging the rage hypodermic trypans, should have blown through him in hindsight. He was out about 28-32 yds.

Mike I have one but haven’t used it recover game yet. I imagine as it cools the intensity will diminish. I see it as another tool in the quiver to help recover game. The cool thing about IR is you can use it day or night.

CONGRATS guys great to see you getting deer.
So per my luck as of late today turned out to be beautiful hunting weather. Of course I just got back from my obligations. I'm a superstitious person so I'm no longer holding out hope for rest of season. I'm in the firm grasp of " If it aint bad luck then there aint no luck to be seen"
My snow tires...turned onto a Monday appointment where All brakes and rotors get replaced. Did I mention I live in hill country? Also rust is an issue. Depressed I have one last day of archery tomorrow.
Aaahh but your post cheer me up, so there's that.

I know better than to ask you lot.

I'm in a dilemma, likely taking tomorrow off as to watch the Steelers game tonight and give the property a little rest. Others will be hunting regardless.

I will only have Saturday and Sunday before returning to work Monday. Shotgun season is Friday, Saturday and Sunday next weekend.

Nit sure of what my odds would be taking a other buck satursay or Sunday. Firearm weekend I can use the bow if I want or .44mag.

I'm having a hard time justifying buying two more tags to get another archery buck tag. That would give me 5 tags with only one buck tag left. Already have one but it is only good next weekend and 2nd season.

I'm already $410 lighter just from this morning.

I gotta start doing skull caps and plaque mounts. Still have ti get the 10 mounted.

Kinda cool story there as well. Was talking to him about whether to do a blue eye or regular. He suggested regular, so I asked him if he still got donor capes every year. He said usually, but last year he didn't receive one.

Then he said, actually, I just got a call the other day, Jason Werth, the baseball player shot a management buck and is just doing a euro with him, said he could probably get me that cape for free.

Werth went to the same High school I did but was a few grades behind. Never met him but have a friend who texts with him after games and such.

Just thought it was pretty cool.

Yeah, I shot this buck in '17, the antlers anway, a MLB'er shot the cape
