Thanks trial 153, my qad Exodus heads suppose to came in Friday, still ain't got hear. If they ain't hear by tomorrow, gonna get a refund!! I'll go to one of the bow shops and get a 3 pack.☹️
I used to shoot the Muzzy 4 blade fathom 100 grain and it never failed . I decided I wanted to be more accurate at longer distances and switched to the Rage 2 blade 100 grain and the Rage Extreme 2 blade 100 grain broadheads and they have never failed and I've killed some huge animals up to 17oo pounds with them. All of these broadheads are cut on contact and I do believe that is important to establish cutting instantly for deeper penetration. I remember an old guide in Newfoundland who was absolutely shocked and amazed at the size of the entrance and exit holes on a huge Moose I killed with a 2 blade 100 grain Rage. But remember still the most important your broadhead has to do is be dead on accurate at the distance your shooting
My qad Exodus came in late yesterday evening. What is a good broadhead target to shoot broadhead into? I shot one into a yellow jacket this eve and it went through the target and through the side of a dog box made of 18 gauge sheet metal!! LOL ! Managed to get it out of the dog box , shot it again and had to cut it out of the yellow jacket! Didn't know the target was full of entwangled crap! Need a good broadhead target for broadhead, and one that's easy to pull the head out of! GEEZE !!
You want a target that has layers of foam compressed tightly together. It will have a bunch of flat pieces of material banded together squeezing them tight.
Thanks Mod-it , on another bow hunting forum a guy posted where he bought a 4' x 8' x2" sheet of foamalar, from home Depot, it's some type of foam insulation for houses. He cut the sheet into pieces to make a 16" thick target, and rachet tied them together to make it tight. I think he paid about $35 for the sheet. Have you guys heard of this foamalar stuff?
Looks like I'm a little to the party, bogob. I was going to say G5 Montecs or Slick Trick Viper Tricks. I've had great success with the Montecs over the years, and just switched to Slick Tricks this year because they are sharper and seem to leave better blood trails. Hope the Exodus heads do well for you ...I don't know much about them, but seems like they are getting a lot of "votes" here.
There are so many out there. You'll get 500 different answers. Find the one that flies best out of your bow. There are alot of variables that affect flight. RazorTricks fly best out of my bow. Unfortunately they don't make them anymore so I'll be trying new heads when I get close to running out of these.
