    Rooting for you.

As soon as I sat down, I saw a fawn, and shortly later a little buck. Then I saw 16 toms and then 4 toms met up with them, fought, and then were banished from the big group. A little before dark I saw 3 does. None of these were very close to me. What a beautiful night.

    Jrk-rooting for you man.

Shane- Congrats great deer and more importantly good insight!

Considering I didn’t think I was going to get out until the weekend and I’ve had two hours sleep it was a good night. 4 different bucks including a two year old 10 point that almost stayed to close for too long.
Stay after em guys. Good luck!

Alrigjt so here's i eas losing light and seeing as i was within 20 yards of a big block of timber i marked last blood with sticking a arrow in ground and will pick it back up in morning. It's pretty tough finding anything surprisingly, even 2ith the snow he's in some tall crp now. While there was still light i back tracked to toward shot and found arrow. Woulda found it earlier but apparently was following wrong tracks across field.

Arrow is showing blood over halfway down it but cant tell if thats from penetration or just blood running down. Whats weird is the tip is undamaged and still has a sharp point to it. So ro me that kinda rules out slamming into shoulder. One of the blades is bent and actually rolled over pretty good. So only thing i can think is maybe it went through rib meat and blade bent enough it got caught on other side of rib cage. But idk, its just confusing there's not really much damage to the bh, except blade. And yes it's a rage bh.

So right now the plan is to come back in morning. When i got to edge of timber it almost sound like something got bumped but not really if that makes sense. Following trail across field it also appeared he was draggin leg pretty good. Right now it is what it is. Have had to leave them overnight before so the anxiety of not finding it hasn't kicked in yet.

One question I saw asked was how far I've tracked. It's been about 175 yard across field and almost 200 from impact. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

He is spraying blood. I’m assuming his tracks show that he was running?

Talked to a buddy of mine that hunts in northern va. He is one of the better consistent public land killers I know. This is the toughest November he can remember. Same with me. Wonder what the heck is going on.

Tracked him little father from where last saw him. But pretty much from last visual, was maybe another 30 yards.

Not sure what time. Will try to be out by at least 700-730.

Yea it appeared he was spraying. The pattern was good 1.5 to 2 foot from tracks.

Looked to be running some and then would slow up and walk then run again. Was one spot could see he stopped and turned back. The blood was mostly drips with few spots that look like sprayed. He was still on the move for most part everywhere I found blood. And still had enough energy to jump fence.

What's your initial gut feeling on it?
If he jumped the fence probably good to back out.

Only thing that has me wondering is seeing all the meat on the broadhead. Non pass thru and having the arrow bouncing around could do that, but it was the only thing I was wondering aboit when I seen it.

Good luck in the morning. Are the woods he went in thicker than chit or will you have a somewhat open woods to track in?

Well, I finally got back to my truck by 5:10Pm. That was about an hour and forty five minutes of torture! Negotiating all of the blow downs whooped me. The 3/4 mile drag's long enough without having to go over, under, and around all the debris.

I had a good feeling going in today, just after the wind and rain subsided. The woods had that look about them, not to mention I found numerous piles of droppings along my trail that were not there yesterday. I wasn't in my stand for more that 35 mins when I saw movement that didn't look like it was generated by the wind. I stare at it and see it's a doe feeding. There was at least one other deer with it, which I know wasn't a buck. It's only 20yrds out, but in some thick stuff. Then she changes direction a bit and is now standing broadside in a more clear spot. There's an opening and I send it through her boiler room. As she's running she's gushing blood! I watched her drop about 40yrds away!

I think that might be the shortest amount of time on stand that I took to kill a deer. I would have sent pics from the woods, but that App gives me too much trouble posting them. Here's a few from this afternoon. Meat in the freezer, and 50 more points for team 12!!! Now, I can only kill a buck, which will get my undivided attention. I love this stuff! :tu:
