Well, next hunt I will venture into uncharted territory, figuratively and literally.

Today marks the latest date of a bow kill buck for me, aside from my first ever deer on the 16th with shotgun.

VS marked up a few potential areas on the property I hunt, so I'll probably hunt a known stand in the morning and then still hunt my way back late morning. Hopefully can find an entry route that I can navigate in the dark fairly easily for the following days.

11/12/13 whining gears buck. Think I shot him 2:30 in the afternoon. And of course it happened right here in LFTS, 15 minutes after my 3rd or 4th stand switch.

I don't think you hit anything vital. Hopefully that makes you feel a little better. Next time you get a chance, KEEL HIM!

I concur with my colleagues, get out there Joe!
If there’s a bunch of scrapes, it’s probably more than one buck. Kill one and split the meat with him!

If this is true, it's one of the craziest stories I've ever heard.

I highly encourage you to try it again...but this time, get it on film! I would go to ground laughing...

There should be a warning on this DO NOT read in a room full of co-workers, I had to explain to my boss that I don't read LFTS every moment that I have free time. I know he didn't believe me, and my co-workers are all laughing at me. I had tears streaming down my face I was laughing so hard.

I'm working today, but all morning I have been watching a buck and doe locked down right out the back window from the house I'm working at. Out back past property is a large cut corn field. Have seen a few deer moving thru it in the last hour.

Well, I wasn't going to hunt today because it was so windy with rain earlier, but the rain turned to light snow and the wind dropped off a lot! I'm going in til dark. That buck is out there!! :tu:

Well this morning was a bust, just simply didn't wake up. I'm getting bite to eat and gonna head out tho for some midday action. Goin to sit in that new spot. So here's hoping they're bedded down in there again. I'm gonna get in across the field so if they're anywhere in there hunkered down they won't see me walking in. Should be there and set up around noon or 1230.

When my boys are old enough to hunt on their own, if I had a spot with that much sign and couldn't hunt it myself, I would want one of them in there rather someone else finding it.

I had to work this morning, and had to convert truck from play truck to work truck for a long day tomorrow, and if I get enough done, I can convert back to play truck for the remainder of the week. Missouri firearms starts Saturday, but my area is archery only so hope to be in stand Thursday until I get r done thru Sunday? Good luck all and Joe, I concur with everyone else, you have more than “earned” your stripes! If Pops wants you to hunt his spot, do it!!!!

    OK,
better to be half right than totally wrong....I suppose.
I said the snow would bring the girls out in day light...though I said the heavy storm would hunker them down....hhhmmm 8:11 this morning infront of the stand I'd planned on going..her and two others plus a spike and 3 point...Now I just finished shoveling half a 300 foot drive by hand and the end of drive across the street and the mail run...not bad for an old lady....shoot me now....lol
    p.s...Christmas snow my....---
