    Holy crap that took longer than thought. Foind a tree on top of hill that overlooked down into where bumped the deer. Its maybe 60 yards but it's as close as good get. Thought bout setting up down in the hole but then I'd be eye level with anything coming down the hills. Gonna haveta go back and trim branches. Bit it should be decent. Not a very big tree but I'm hoping the ones around it will help and won't stand out as much. But its up and feels safe. Stood there in it for about 5 mins but that's all could take not having my harness.

    Idk if I'll try it out tomorrow or not. Would have maybe tonight but buddy is finishing up putting wheat in and gonna sacrifice this afternoon. Still have a full week to get something done. Pics are stand, obviously, and off to the right where saw buck and whatever else was wondering around. [IMG][IMG]

    Live from dad duty and listening to my wifes game. Some of you guys know my wife took over a seriously struggling college bball team last year. She is trying to build it into something. Its gonna take time but today her young team is playing the Univ of Florida. They are up 19 to 11 after the 1st quarter. They may lose by 40 today but that 1st quarter really shows a lot of progress!

    If you'rr gonna cheat. Make it worth it. Not sure how a strong north wind with dropping temps will allow the smaller heater to stand up. Stepped it up a bit.

    Those pics look like you're in my woods, literally. The similarity is striking. Being inside a not so common opening, you can actually get the "edge effect", which deer like.

    Good luck evening shift.. Hunting break for me tonight. got three days vacation next week before gun season starts to try and get it done.

    My nephew scored on a great 10 down at the family farm this morning. has a 19 1/2 inch spread.

    Rain overnight turning to snow just after sunrise. Up to 2".

    Going to be a quiet entrance with wet leaves.

    Feeling cute, might shoot a doe early :confused:

    One hour of legal time left. Made a mad dash to the stand once we got home from hockey.
    They are cutting our beans. Kind of on the path the deer should take to the staging area before heading in to the buffet.
    Hopefully this pans out with a deer cruising by.

    don't take that shot. May deflect a bit off the front shoulder and exit gut, then he could run onto a private lease. They guys on it might be cool enough to let you look for him but it will be right then and not let him sit overnight and you will bump him 3 times and then lose him...

    <sigh>
