Funny you mention this. Just yesterday I'm sitting in my stand and wondering how many hunters have actually heard a doe bleat? I've been deer hunting since the mid 70's, and I've heard a doe bleat exactly one time! I will say though, that can call sounds exactly like the real thing. This is the only buck that I had actually respond to it. I have him on trail cam too.

I guess looking at that rack, it's no surprise he responded to the can call.

No time to go through ,but congrats to any that have scored. I am thinking about trying for a doe here in a bit. Though I'm afraid, very afraid, he may come back from last night...I won't have another buck tag until Saturday...I wouldn't sleep for a week..LOL

Just a friendly reminder for everyone to shoot their bows in the near future if you have not done so in the past week or two. I shot mine today for the first time in 2 weeks and found I was hitting high at all distances.

I think from going through all of the thick stuff, my bow getting bumped around a bit moved the sight. Made a slight adjustment and hitting good again.

Hunting a new property today, I moved some cams around here in mid september and opted to hunt another property cause I just wasnt getting pics of the bucks I wanted. Well that last move was what it took. Couple of good bucks frequenting here and a big mature 10. Im sure Ill see all of them tonight since i filled my buck tag.

Im here for a doe and observation, this stand was always meant to be an observation stand first as I can see a long ways in every direction.

Bumped 3 does on the way in, one had a big 10 following her around.

We are set up on my favorite rock formation. 42yds into the power line and 30yds into the woods. Deer trail crossing all of it 10yds in front of us. Grace on buck patrol.

Just shot a few this morning. Off by an inch, but I don't see that as a problem.

Man up, deer don't check the forecast and plan their rutting behavior.

    That's exactly what I'm doing.

I'm achieving my goal. May not get the buck I hope for, drop tine/gnarly non typical, but I had two other goals coming into the season. Use the compound again and take a good buck from my uncles favorite stand.

I'll be out in the morning in the box blind. Should have place to my self this week. I already give up today of my vacation. Time to just do it.

I am going to cheat a little bit. There was a buddy heater in the blind. Gonna take a couple propane tanks with me. Should be able to peel a layer or two off.

I checked yesterday and as long as I set my phone down I can get a signal, so may be able to follow along the next few days.

Screw the wind, it's probably saved a few big buck lives from hunters giving in to it.

Setting this evening out (sorta). Cutting a new trail to access the back of this property with our going through the middle. This will allow me to access the back of the property a lot easier and quieter. The yellow is already cleared well. Just gotta take the loppers and a hand saw and do the red. I already have a stand back there over looking the bedding but need an E wind to hunt it (NE tomorrow). Don’t know if it’ll pan out for tomorrow but there’s a ton of honey locust back there. Maybe late season food source.

If it goes quick and easy enough cut a few more trails for where you want the deer to move for a shot. They'll be using your new entry trail more than you are.

Guys help and old man out here. Why am seeing pictures in some posts and not in others? I know there's a pic there but they don't show up sometimes. I tried just logging into bowhunting.com but it always goes to tapatalk. And the bowhunting.com app does the same thing. What gives?

Delete tapatalk and the app. Just use the browser. Works great.
