Give him plenty of time Benny! I am home from Texas I’ll be in a tree this afternoon hopefully I’ll have better luck here!
A pic of Troy's buck is on the BH.com Facebook page. Captain give him time and you will find him! Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I won’t start looking until tomorrow morning. To make it worse, we’re getting 2-4 inches of snow tonight Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I believe my odds of finding this deer are slim. I’m guessing he’s probably in the 120s. I wanted to get us some points with how rough my season is going Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So here’s the plan, we’re giving him about 12 hours then getting the dog in there and we’ll see how it goes. If we get snowed on I’ll never find this buck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I meant not a 180 haha....hopefully you guys know that was Ah man Sorry t hear that but it happens. That deer will die but it's going to take a day possibly. Options are to either sneak up down wind if you know where he's at to get an arrow in him. He doesn't want to move so will hunker down and not move till he has to. Otherwise if you don't know where he bedded down it's best to wait. Honestly this is one where you should bring in tracker dogs if legal. They will be able to track guts.
I’ve got a friend with a good tracking dog. I think I have an idea where he bedded but I’m not sure. It’ll be tough with snow tonight I think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I took today off to roadtrip with the fam and get the best Chinese food ever made. We drive for 3 hours, damn restaurant is closed on Sundays now. Should have been in the stand...
just got back from doing more scouting. from what i found i am a lot more comfortable with my current spots to finish out the season. congrats on the deer guys! hang in there benny. you'll find him. after 12 hours he will be sick enough to get another arrow in him.
Troy, that is heck of a buck man! Congrats! Fix, hang in there brother. Everything happens for a reason, you’ll bounce back. Still a couple of weeks left of really good hunting. Benny, don’t beat yourself up man. We’ve all made bad shots on deer, it happens to the best of us! Like the other guys have said, he will die, it’s just going to take him some time. Go slow and glass ahead and hopefully you can find where he’s bedded and get another arrow in him if necessary.
Hang in there benny! Had a great sit tonight! passed a 115 inch 8 at 32 yards and then some smaller bucks chasing a doe!!
