Seen 1, not sure if buck or doe. Was 150 or so yards directly downwind. Gut feeling says it was a young buck chasing a doe as it was going straight up the ridge side amd I didn't catch it in time to see the doe. Wouldn't think a doe would go straight up like that if she hit the scent stream, would think she would either turn back or trot ahead.

That wind just did me in, not sure if it was tunneling increasing wind speeds or what but every gust just chilled me to the core. I was constantly having to stand up and pull the hoody down and pants up but didn't do much good once I sat down.

Rain was supposed to stop at 11...now it says 3. Either way, I'm here and waiting for my boy.

If I knew I had a legit chance at a bruiser like that, I’d be sitting in the rain too!!

    For certain:

    Friday
Mostly sunny, with a high near 36. Light and variable wind

No wind and I'll have my cold weather gear on. Thought I had the thin insulated suit in my tote, but it wasn't.

Tomorrow is almost a perfect set up for cruising amd movdment.

Think I might go do some scouting before the rain starts and come up with a good rut spot.

Nice! I’m thinking of sitting tomorrow out. 20 mph plus winds sustained with higher gusts.
I’ll rest up for Saturday: low 21 high 35, sunny with light winds.

I've got grunting down in the holler. Maybe 60 yards away, but I can't see over the ridge top.

I had to listen closely to make sure it wasn't just my stomach growling...

Bumped the only potential shooter I have on my way out. He and his dirty girl where getting cozy not 40 yards from one of my tree stands. Think I know where I will be this afternoon and tomorrow. If she is in heat I’m staying close to her bedroom.

Let’s do this PM shift, lunch time is over.

That's about what it was here today. 16 sustained gusts in 20's, but I foolishly sat in the bottoms of the ridges. I'd have been fine if the suit was in, it's my own fault. Opened the lid and assumed, plus I stupidly waited for the night before to wash my good insulated suit. Didn't dry in time

    I'll have it tomorrow though

Well guys I did some scouting on the way out. I setup this morning 2 ridges over from were I was hunting that big 8 pt. Now that I got down and looked at this big rub and scrape. I'm about 90% sure that was the big 8 that walked up on me this morning. He was heading to his scrape behind me, I didn't see it this morning setting up. He has unique rub. About a 2" tree on the ones I've seen, but he rubs them almost 5' tall. It goes from a 1 foot off ground to 5' up. Not many bucks can do that! So good news he's alive! Bad news he got a huge wiff of me this morning, but he didn't spook, just went off and bedded close. The other bad news is wind direction is bad today, so going to wait another day for a north wind and go shoot him!
