Had a nice 120” 8pt running a doe and she ended up right in front of my stand.....I was positive I was gonna get a shot at him and just like that he gives up and starts rubbing trees and biting leaves......then just walks off. Part of the chase I guess.
Na, maybe 4 ish. Time was getting short so he was too good to pass to go home empty tomorrow. Wish I lived closer i would have come back next week too.
Just getting home this afternoon. I will get that buck measured and entered this weekend. He isnt a high scoring deer, knew that when shot him but he was too good pass on the last morning. Thinking he will go 125-130ish.
Score or not, still a dandy. The river bottom I've been hunting just had a pack of wolves come and set up camp. That will screw things up for a few days!. Been dismally slow here.
Had a shooter come by this morning. I got greedy and passed up a good shot, hoping for a perfect shot. It never happened . Had deer around all morning.

Been bowhunting 42 years and can say I've never seen ( or remember) a year like this. *SLOW*! Last year at this time I was freaking covered up in rutting bucks, now I can't buy one? Jimmy, if that buck stepped out in front of me now, I'd drill him in a heartbeat!!
