That's a great story and buck! Thanks for sharing that personal moment with the rest of us. I'm sure it meant just as much to your dad.

Nothing moving yet. He’s not in his bed. I’m downwind and would be able to smell him. Hope he comes to it this morning.

Who’s got a miracle cure for a massive head cold??? Have had a lingering cold for a week or more... But yesterday it’s gotten worse. Sinuses stuffed up, chest full of nastiness, and ears all plugged up. Taking DayQuil, musinex, and vitamins. Trying to drink a gallon of water every day.

My immune system is usually solid as a rock and I never get sick. Now it hits right in the middle of the rut.

That may not be that far off. Labor rate might be a little high for 4 wheeler but you are in Illinois. Was synthetic oil used? How much was the filter? A lot of factors go into it.

I work at a Mack and Volvo Dealer. Our labor rate is $153/hr. Although our oil change service is discounted to $100 plus parts. 40 qts oil 5 filters and you are looking at $400-$450.

Not sure how accessible the carb is on your machine. So maybe labor dollars a little high and labor rate. But maybe only by $50.

Shop supplies is usually a percentage of the labor cost to cover rags, uniforms, etc. So the parts charge is for spark plug, oil and filter. Sounds like you made out pretty good. Lol

Filter was $13.06, oil was $14.85 Labor for oil change was $49.50. Doubt it was synthetic.

Carb is actually pretty easy to access, charged 1.5 hours labor.

It's my fault for not asking what labor was, and I added the oil change and spark plug on tossing them a bone.

My last job I was the alignment and brakes tech. Labor was $60hr. Didn't realize how high it has jumped in just shy of 16 years. This is the first time I have ever paid shop labor rates  and now, the last.

I’m calling it. Tomorrow the mature buck population is going to get a lot smaller. Wish I could be in a stand. Maybe get an hour in the evening we’ll see. Good luck if you are in a stand/blind/or sneakin Mohican

Go to the doctor and get antibiotics soon. That head cold prob was always a sinus infection. Get those antiniotics rolling today and within 36 hrs you will feel a heck of a lot better.

Right there with you, I can't shake it and I know if I hit the deer woods no deer will come close with all the coughing and hacking I'm doing.

Trying to stay positive, not working so much
