Yesterday at 8ish, all hell breaks out, 7 Does south of me, 1 small 4pt, Doe comes running in from north, 2# 8 pts trailing, 1st on is busted up with bloody eye, grunting changeling 2nd smaller 8, Doe and small 8 both busted me trying to take pictures. I think the bigger 8 bred the Doe, could not see them well, behind laurel, gave out the first "growl grunt " I've ever heard. Saw a total of 18 Does, bambies included, 6 bucks. This morning 7 Does and the small 8 chasing. 8pt with doe.jpg 8pt.jpg

I was laid off September 27th. NY opened October 1st. Of course in between my morning and afternoon hunts I’ve been looking for a job. I must suck though only have 1 doe to show for it all so far.

Last nite , different stand , getting dark, have a chase running in laurel, Doe and bambie finally come out and cross trail buck follows, saw 4 on 1 side, didnt get excited so didnt pick up bow. Got to 25 yds looks right at me, wide taller than i thought, nice 8pt. As soon as I thought shooter, he goes into stealth mode melts back into laurel, dead quiet never heard him leave, Doe comes out and busted me grabbing bow . Think this is the buck, back left corner of picture. IMG_0019.JPG IMG_0022.JPG

FYI, anyone on the fence about the Milwaukee heated hoodie, do it!
I should have bought some years ago.
You may need extra batteries depending how how long your hunts are, but it’s awesome.
I got a hoodie and vest. I might get another hoodie so I’m covered for extended trips

The vest is nice but noisy. I only use it hunting if I’m gonna have some fleece layers over it.
I use it mostly for working outside.
The hoodie is silent and well made

The heated socks work well? It seems they all get mixed reviews, so I never pulled the trigger.
My feet are my weak spot. I have to wear Frankenstein boots loaded with warmers

This is my first year with them. We’ve had a few mornings in the low 30s, I’ve worn my Rocky 800 mg boots. With the socks on the lowest setting I get 6 to 7 hours of heat with them. On the low setting my feet are not cold, but they are not toasty either. I’m thinking of picking up another set of batteries for them for around 40 bucks. These are the ones I bought:

I changed farms before the swirling wind ruined my best spot. I've got the decoy right on the rub line/scrape from yesterday morning.
