Little 6 came out of nowhere and was bounding around. Came right underneath me and worked his way upwind into the bedding area. I could smell him.

Now I just need his great grand pappy to do that.

Not hunting this morning to get my bow lined out. Shot a buck yesterday morning but didn’t have any sig to update. Same result as the big 6 on Monday but this time I could tell I only got about 8” of pen. Waited 3 hours, packed up, got down, slowly tracked, blood started. Picking up around 2pm as he crossed a property line. Got permission, the property owner hunts quite a bit and manages the property for deer.

We’re talking, shooting the ****, looking for blood for about 45 mins, when he says “ look there he is!” A doe ran up with in about 40 yards of us. We stood and talked more. Walked around a little. After about 10 mins, he said “if you wanna nock one and take her go ahead”.

I didn’t really have a shot so we stood and talked some more. Finally, he said see how close you can get by putting that walnut between you and her. So I nocked one, proceeded to use the dead space between me and the walnut. She spooked as expected, but turned right into my shooting lane. I shot for 35 but she was more like 30.

Hit a little high, STILL didn’t get pass through. The arrow went in about 8” and broke off. She went 40 yards and crashed but I gotta figure out why my bow won’t shoot arrows through rib cages.

Im sure your guys heads feel a lot better than mine. 31 years old and still haven’t learned my lesson. Someday I will learn.

Me and a buddy went $40 into a box and got this. Hope my luck continues to tonight.

Just shot a buck. Not to big

I didn't drink enough water yesterday, so now I have a headache. The wind is blowing in a bad direction and there is not much sign here, but I've shot a buck out of this stand the past 2 years. Deer can ge real close and come from anywhere.
All of a sudden there is a real nice buck to my right. I'm waiting for him to get in an opening, but he smells me and bolts. I turn around and there is a smaller buck, but nice. I shot him at 7 yards! Waiting a bit before getting down. Looked like a good shot, but watched him run 80 yards before losing sight.

Also, my buddy shot a buck last night and recovered it this morning - he's with me in Wisconsin

Also, my brother texted me 10 minutes before I shot that he had shot a buck!

You know I'll be posting blood pics when I get down.

I am covered up in deer this morning. Got small bucks out chasing and big does running around. Days like today are fun!
