Do it ! I've never had anything come into a rattle. Surprisingly the only thing I've ever gotten bucks to respond to from me blind calling is the Can Call. I got with me in my pack today.

I should add of the 2 or 3 that have actually come in because of the can call all have been 1.5 year old bucks. Which validates my statement that there is no dumber animal in the woods than a 1.5 year old buck during the rut.

Just moved 500 yds. I think I am overthinking this whole thing. Just moved to much thicker cover and down wind of a thicket. Im in for the long haul now. I see food and a nap in my future.

Finally caught up on thread. Nice buck sycamore.

Saw 4 doe about 40 yds out. Way to thick for a shot in the direction they were. Brought the climber today so might make a move mid day.

Doe bleat is all that's ever worked for me as well. The only thing that's ever came in to rattling for me is coyotes two different times.

Saw a small 8. Off to run errands. Will be back this afternoon
Damn snow insulated the ground and the inch of rain we got first has made hills almost impossible to navigate. Not sure where I will sit for the afternoon

Smart part of me says...go ahead and head home, you are exhausted.

The Dumb and more prominent part of me says....you need the rut drug. So here I am.....

Year after year the places I hunt let me know I aint hunting in any great hunting spot. Hahaha.[IMG]

Headed in at 1045 CST. I have seen 4 younger bucks and 2 does.

My buddy has seen 6 bucks and 1 doe. He said he would shoot a 2.5 yo 8, but has passed on 3 eights this morning - I'm not sure of their size.

I am looking for a buck in the 130s+, but it would be tough to pass on anything above 120.

Going to quick grab lunch and a cat nap. Headed to a different place this afternoon.

Wind just about blew me out of a tree this morning. Came home to this maple in my yard which crushed a big beautiful apple tree in the lawn.

Had to stop in at home to feed my dogs and let them out for a little bit. We still have no power from last nights storm. Good thing that won’t affect me sitting in a tree LOL

I cannot remember the last buck I killed that was following a doe. Most of my kills had bucks all by themselves. Maybe 10 yrs ago was the last time a doe positively influenced a rut buck kill.
