I probably will, but it's a bit bulky. Kinda glad today is similar temperature wise. Normally in Nov. especially early, it starts out cold but by about 10am it is nearing 50. Not gonna be the case this weekend. Gave me a heads up on what it will really be like.

All depends on what your doing, sitting still in a tree, I get cold when its not even that cold.. its never too cold to cut firewood in a teeshirt tho (exaggeration but you get my point) lol

The other key is the season starts in SC early Aug...classes probably mid to late Aug. Build those relationships now!

I got permissions all lined out and proceeded to the spot where I stopped last night. Blood was spotty but easy to track. Got to the spot where I though I heard him blow and there was a couple globs of lung blood. You could tell he was standing there for a while before I bumped him. Didn’t look like he bedded down though.

After that decent spot, it thinned out to just drops. 50 yards later we were chasing pin drops. I told my wife to stay at the last pin drop and I went ahead to try to cut more blood. I went to a creek crossing thinking the force of him jumping would bust it back open or make him throw a clot. So 60 yards from my wife, I pick up two watery drops of blood. I went 100 yards in every direction grid searched and walked property lines to know avail

The nearest one is an hour away. I tracked it for a half mile before the blood ran out and I grid searched on past that. I don’t know what went wrong. I can’t say I’d have done anything different on the shot given the chance. It was just a 30 yard broad side shot. I haven’t lost a deer in four years. It sucks.

But I’m going back out for redemption tonight.

Alright guys I stopped by one property and checked the camera but it was practically empty. Oh and the loud sound of the chainsaw also helped me decide that I was going to choose a different spot lol so I’m here at my main property in the middle stand right at the bottom of a ridge and on the edge of a corn field, I’ve got lots of tracks three here and some pretty big ones that look like it could possibly be a mature buck so I’m here for the evening hope to send pictures soon IMG_1162.JPG

This is my first afternoon sit on my new farm I bought this past spring. Sitting on the edge of a new food plot that is placed on top of a big ridge. Lots of sign and I’m ready to release a arrow.
