Good afternoon, guys! Finally got my doe added to the scorecard today since the video aired last night. Caught a bunch of crap from the anti-crossbow crowd, but that was to be expected. People are so angry these days. Hunted this morning and didn't see squat! All of the mature bucks are still nocturnal on cameras right now. Seeing some 1 and 2 year olds harassing does in the evenings, but the 4-5 year olds aren't doing much until it's dark. I recently had 2 older deer show up on camera for the first time since last fall, so they're definitely starting to roam - just not during daylight. That should start to change any day now. Good luck everyone! The best time of the year is finally here. The next 8 days are my favorite time to hunt of the entire year.

I saw some daylight action starting on camera and in the stand in the past few days but driving last night we didn't see many hit on the roads. Finish the ride today and get into camp for tomorrow. I have seen a big upturn on scrape activity, albeit smaller bucks. Good luck to those out today, and to heck to those who don't like the crossbow, its awesome to get the kids involved. Man, another slow morning in the stand! Between last Friday and today I've hunted 6 times and have only seen 3 does. It's been brutal. Let's hope it picks up this weekend. I'm dying here.

Between work this past week and each day this weekend filled up with not hunting stuff, I won’t be out until next Friday. Tough time to be sitting on the sidelines. I have been covered up in does and little bucks. I watched 2 little bucks go at it pretty hard this morning. The rain is back and I'm at the house waiting on the Buckeyes to play against the Badgers.
Shot another doe tonight. Hit her a bit high so I had to put another in her. Pretty messy. Wasn’t able to get a pic right away. w/ warm temps I had to get her to butcher. Day three in MO. Starting to see some small buck movement but all the does I saw still had fawns last night. One guy passed a decent 8. Hoping to see a bit more daytime movement. Good morning! I stuck a decent 8pt. at 7:10. Hit him a little high and might have hit shoulder, no pass through. Probably a one lung shot. I’m pretty sure I heard him crash about 60yds away. I’m going to wait until 8am to look at the impact area for blood. Fingers crossed.
I followed a decent blood trail for 80yds, no problem finding blood. Some blood is showing bubbles, blood is 40” high on the bush in the one pic. Blood seems to be getting better the farther he goes. I’m going to back out and give it another hour or 2.
