Well things have changed in my hunting schedule. My son did not qualify to travel to Maryland for a golf tournament so that frees me up for Friday night and Saturday morning and night. Super bummed that I don’t get to see him but that’s 3 sits. I hope to fill tag 3 in that time. Looks like temps are getting low on Friday night too so it Should be good!!

Hopefully I can finally get on the board tomorrow evening! Our spot close to the office has had plenty of does moving around the last couple weeks, and we've finally got a good wind direction to get in there. So I'm hoping that I'll break my curse tomorrow! Haven't shot a deer since 2015, so it's been a while for me, wish me luck!

I don’t hunt Maryland. Strictly PA but that could change next year. I like the idea of getting and extra month head start. Not to bad of a drive to get down there.

Well looks like it will be aprox. 10 months until I see my deer again. Just dropped it off at taxidermist tonight. Decided to get a wall pedestal mount in semi sneak with a right turn
    IMG_0657.JPG
This is pose but I’m going to make a custom display case/pedestal to mount him on. It’s going to be more like a piece of furniture. Can’t wait. Got plenty of time to build it.

Nice! You will love that mount! That was the same one I got on my big buck I shot a couple years ago.

Turns out the taxidermist is actually adding on to his house. Part shop part in-law quarters. I may have found a way to work to pay for mount and take nothing out of pocket. He seemed interested in trading some of my experience and expertise for his. May be able to start a running tab for future work

That works! I did that with the taxidermist I used. I cut off a stump for him in his yard. In return he mount a deer. I just paid for the material. But the stump was 3' × 6' wide red oak, not the easiest job.

Finally checked camera at my dad's. I wasn't sure if it the flood got it. Luckily it stayed dry and I still have a salt block. There was a bunch of water![IMG]

Well decided to hold off until am to go out. I put about 5 pounds of jerky on the dehydrator, washed all my clothes, shot my bow for awhile and ozoning gear as we speak. Tomorrow morning looks great as far as temps go!! Might go back to the killin tree !!
Good luck to whoever is going out!!!

Good luck tomorrow! I will be out tomorrow also. Going to do my first morning hunt of the year. Still not sure we're I want to go. I did get a reservation for tomorrow at the property I'm hunting those bucks, just not sure I want to deal with all the weekend people.

Yes, it's all gone now. We had 8-10" of rain in less than 24 hours.

Sorry didn’t get to finish. Is muzzleloader opening tomorrow? I think is does in pa for a week. Shouldn’t bother me any. Might push more deer into property.

No, you can use a bow. But you have to buy the muzzle loader tag

Yes This past Thursday to next Saturday is a early muzzle loader season for MD. I usually don't join in, but I buy the license so I can keep bow hunting.
