Got in real clean. 45 degrees with high humidity. Ground wet and Im on the edge of a small swamp. I identified this last off season as a potentially overlooked spot. Havent scouted it in season but the sign was there in the winter.

Saw a nice buck out at the road as I drove in. Hauled butt into the woods and climbed up. Barely got seated and he came through, half hour before light. nice tall 8.

Spilt all my coffee and lost an arrow on the walk in.

But I'm not complaining. Happy to be in the woods!!

So made it in not one spook. 7:31 had a buck come in on down hill wind. No problems ,crossed my trail in then went straight up the hill till he caught a ground scent and circled around like a hound on a trail. Tried a bleat or 2 but no interest. Holy cow cold out .

Good morning boys. Just waked and baked and now I’m rolling out to the stand in a cloud of skunk cover scent. Just trying to be natural...

Last sit of my fall break and that’ll be it until thanksgiving (I don’t want to talk about it). Not much action since I had that nice one around the other day.

In the spirit of optimism, I might stick a doe if presented the right opportunity this AM. Not many signs of life in the woods this weekend so I’m trying the HIGHly frowned upon morning foodplot hunt.

    Good luck everyone :)

I'm in the climber. Was 36 degrees when I got in chipmunks and squirrels are active. Sun just peaked over the hill. 1571143043678.jpeg

Looks like i will be getting 3 short hunts in over the next 3 days, we have a heavy rain storm rolling in around 10AM tomorrow.. going to hang and hunt the area i scouted last night, right after work tonight until dark, sit for the first hourish before work and before the rain tomorrow, then i will get out after work thursday, I am hoping the rain will have them feeding tonight and tomorrow morning as there are a TON of acorns around the tree i picked yesterday!

Had a group of doe and fawn come down hill , but they were out of range just on edge of back line. Ha, buck comes up out of swamp bedding before doe go down into it. Frost on neighbors field and on my lane plot. First morning I have looked like a heavy smoker when breathing.. Surprised those doe didn't take new, trail plot down the, hill to bedding. Though they were just leaving 20 acres of corn.
