just wanted to introduce myself! I’ve been bow hunting for 30+ years, first time on any forum. Live in NJ but currently working in southern Illinois, I plan on hunting the month of November in Illinois, any advice from any locals in Illinois?

I hunt Mermet lake, it's kind of tough but there a butt load of deer out there. It gets harder after they flood the place for duck season...well depends on how you look at it, the flooding will funnel them into other areas.
Where in Southern Illinois? I drive up around Metropolis/Massac County.
Edit: It's going to cost around $500 for non-resident licenses and permits, so prepare for that non-sense.

I have permission to hunt private property in Franklin county and also Massac its a small piece of woods that ties into 500 acres. It’s on metropolis rd. How is that area?

I'm an out of state hunter but when I cruise around glassing fields I see a ton of deer, usually I'll see more deer in one day than I see most of my season in Tennessee. I'll be at Mermet this weekend, I can give an idea of what's happening in So. Illinois, hopefully I can post a monster Illinois buck.
