Made it out for another short sit with my boys tonight...sitting in a ground blind over a clover field, I’m hoping to at least see something!

We did a little pothole jumping for ducks this morning and were lucky enough to get a young merganser, they were super excited, which is all I could ask for!

Ended up having a great night in the blind, saw 6 deer, with 3 bucks! Had a small 6 to start, then a spike, then a nice 2.5 year old 8. Was waiting for him to work out into the field a little more to give me a shot, but he never did. Exciting night in the woods for us!

I'll be in NJ for archery bear but I only hunt State or County land and neither allow bear hunting. Pretty bummed about that since I have some bears on camera

Good to hear for sure! Those hunts are the next best thing to killing a big ol swamp donkey!

Well guys it’s not looking like too good for the opener here in Michigan. I might try to make it out tomorrow evening if the rain holds off. If I do I’ll probably just head to an easy accessible farm for a couple hours sitting on the edge of a bean field to knock the dust off.

Good luck out there. Hopefully ends up being right place right time. I’m staring at lakes forming in my yard with the rain now and forecast looks to continue too. Eventually it’ll work out soon too. Maybe gonna grab cams later in week and see if things are picking up yet. Nothing worth pushing yet

I feel ya with the lakes! It rained in my area from Friday evening basically until late yesterday afternoon with some breaks in there every so often. I got tired of dumping my rain gauge out

Saw some nasty weather on the news covering from our area to yours. Think we’re due for some nice fall weather any time now. Maybe 50 with a gentle breeze and no rain in sight. I always thought of putting a gauge out but my sidewalk is a pretty good indicator for when that has an inch on it it’s been hitting good and can’t keep up soaking in. Was about 3” running to garage this morning so any hunting spots get pretty swampy then.

Friday morning or Saturday morning is looking like my opening day as well here in Indiana... With temps in the 90's until Thursday I just don't have the desire to hunt in those temps. So probably going to occupy my time by shooting some extra arrows and getting my clothes washed and ready.

Hey guys. Sorry I haven't been very active lately. My home opener in IL is tomorrow. Looks like I won't be getting out until next week. Thinking of my family as my aunt passed away on Saturday from a stroke during open heart surgery. The deer will always be there but family is family. Hug your loved ones and hold them tight.

    Good luck teammates.

    Happy Opening Day from Indiana!!

Still looking like Friday morning before work and maybe a weekend sit or two... Probably will not have too much to report this week. Could get lucky Friday morning with the cold front and deer feeding in beans > that is my plan anyway.

I can’t take it! I’m going to get out this evening my odds aren’t real likely but I need a break from life. It’s a great observation stand where if deer come out I should see a lot and might possibly have one stroll by. Right on the end of this point, everything around me field wise are still green soy beans. It’s warm but let’s roll. I should be in the stand by 5:30ish Image1569953251.338654.jpg
