Sorry I’ve been mia guys, I’ve been dealing with water in my basement ripping up carpet, flooring and what hair I have left on my head. Hopefully all is under control now. The opening day forecast isn’t looking too great for me here in Michigan. I’m debating whether or not I’ll even make it out, I’d hate to miss it but time will tell. May get out just for a little peace and quiet and to knock off the cobwebs.

Hope things work out. Definitely know how stuff messes it up. Issues here as always too. Make sure you feel set and do what you can and enjoy it and looking forward to the results.

Always good to just get out. Even if it's just to sit in a tree in the woods.

I may go out Saturday afternoon. Its Bear season and nothing else but I'd like to just be in the woods and observe whatever comes in. And if a nice bear comes in I'll spill some blood.

Heading out pretty late for a quick sit but I had some stuff to take care of. 2 hours is better than nothing

Had a shot at a young doe but she looked not even 60 pounds so I let her walk. On a side note, I saw these bear tracks in the bank of the creek. For reference I'm a size 13. Any idea how big this bear was?[IMG][IMG]

I’d guess that’s gotta be a nice size one. Wouldn’t be able to even throw numbers out but definitely not small. Not very useful from me but my guess

Heading out this evening to put some finishing touches on a few stands and check a few cameras... Just 4 days away from the opener here in Indiana. The 30th is 92, the 1st is 93 and the 2nd is 89 then comes the front down to 70/49 a week from today. That will be my first hunt of the season! Excited.

Good luck out there. Checked cams to see for now. Still just nocturnal. Not gonna push it and work stuff came up with wife. Plenty of time still. Beetles should be coming today so hopefully getting my buddies skulls done soon. Real curious how they’re gonna work out

Wow that's bigger than I was expecting. We definitely get some big bear in NJ since they're never more than 20 minutes from a garbage feast. This is about 20 miles from where someone shot a 829lb black bear a few years ago. Too bad they banned bear hunting on state land, would be fun to go after him

Yea, I don't understand why they don't allow hunting them on state land in Jersey. There's a LOT of them.
