Nice! What part of Texas? You shooting anything? Or just looking for big buck? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I wish I was getting out!! I still have 9 more days. I’ve been putting in 10 hour days and working saturdays to get ahead for when I can hunt. Kinda sucks now but after the 5th I’m done work at 2 so plenty of time to hit the woods if I don’t have any family stuff going on. Been shooting every night staying dialed in. Don’t want to screw anything up when the opportunity arrives.just washed all my stuff, packed backpack and everything is in giant tote with my enforcer as we speak. Oh yeah!!! Haha, you definitely got the hunting bug this year! At least your ready to go, your season will start before you know it. I got slammed with work this week and will be working all weekend, so it will probably be another week before I can even get out. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Season opens for me Saturday. I have to work and my youngest granddaughter has soccer game so won't get out opening morning. I'll probably be out Sunday afternoon and I'm on vacation all week. Can't wait! Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
I have yet to get out.. Been busy finishing up building a farmers porch on my house to keep mumma happy, on top of the 40+ hours a week at my normal job. Hope to get out a morning or two next week.
I haven't been out yet. Coaching HS softball pretty much takes up any of my normal spare time. I'm hoping to get a sit in this weekend possibly, showing a high of 71, but there's a 60% chance of thunderstorms. Will have to play it by ear I guess. Last year I killed my buck on Sept 30th on a very similar day. I'm just not real sure I have any bucks to kill this year. Trail cams have been real slow this year.
My season doesn't start until 10/1, so I'm getting pretty antsy! I'll probably only hunt opening day, and then the weekend. Going to move a stand and mow some grass at the spot I hunt this weekend, so I'll probably check a few cameras as well. That spot's been pretty dead since like mid-August, so fingers crossed that some deer start moving more! I'll let you guys know if I get any good pics.
West Texas. If a shooter steps out, I’ll be really happy, but basically just going for opening week camp experience and to film a couple projects. I’m going to get my fair share of hunting though! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Came close to a trophy doe last night. New property, first time out....lots of pine needles and moss so you can't hear them coming. Saw 9 does...1 big girl came to 20 yards, but....stick in way, 2 yearlings looking at me, she stepped when I shot...you get the idea. I muffed it. Anyway, at least I know there are plenty of deer in there.
It’s looking like opening day temps for me in pa will be great. High of 64!! Lows in the low 40s. Super pumped now!!of course how much can you trust a weatherman with a forecast a week out. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Yeah I never trust them that far out. But if it's any where close to that, should still be great. You hunting opening day? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Yes sir. Will be in the tree an hour before daylight. Usually stay out until 10 or so then go in for lunch and back out around 2 or so to a different tree. I have both spots picked out from other years experiences and feeling good about my chances of at least getting a shot at a doe. Kinda excited to pull the card on my first trail cam and check it out at the beginning of my evening sit. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Also just looked at the wind app I’ve been using and didn’t know they had a forecast for a week out but that also looks like it will be perfect for both sets I’m thinking of using. Things are starting to shape up for opening day success. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Where at in West Texas if you don’t mind ne asking. I am in the Panhandle of Texas which is sometimes referred to as part of West Texas and in some circles it is not.
