Nothing like a couple of bucks to get you motivated! I just got slammed with work this week and all I can do is think when the next time I can get out hunting! Haha. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
The timing for the big job I’m on now should be perfect. I have final inspections scheduled for next week and the owners will be moving back in on the 1st. Season starts on the 5th so shouldn’t be a problem getting off to hit the woods after work. Generally work six to two with no lunch that’s puts me in the stand at 3:30ish. Oh I can’t wait!!!!! It’s all figured out. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Nice! I like your plan. I'm getting excited for all you guys that are starting your season in the next couple weeks. Looking forward to everyone joining in on the fun! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
2 more weeks!!!! I know some areas in the state started their season today but not where I hunt. Real bummer. This morning when I got up to go to work it was perfect out. Not sure of exact temp but had to go back in and get a sweatshirt. I love hoodie weather. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
The last few days have been really nice. I have been bring a hoody with me on most of my hunts. Fall officially starts this monday, of course it's going almost up to 90 degrees all week. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Kentucky trip is over, got that doe seen a bunch more and a handful of smaller bucks. Got my trail camera set up a couple days ago and got a good buck on there already and I know we got some bigger bruisers running around! Will be home in a Florida for October but back up to Ky in November for rut!
Still no monsters on camera but if this guy makes a wrong step I'll definitely be tempted. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Well I finally got a trail camera in the woods. A buddy of mine asked if I wanted to use one that he had laying around. I thought what the heck lets give it a shot. I have one set that I made this year where I cleared off an old road that leads from an ore mine on a steep creek hill that is thick and nasty. I have always seen deer using the old road but when they got to the spot where is was overgrown they would wander off if it and into the crop fields at top of hill. This spring I went in with a chainsaw and now it is a clear path to the fields. I got a spot set up for my saddle by the field about 10 yards from the road. I have a good feeling about this spot. It didn’t take long and I could tell it was getting used. This is where I am going on opening evening if wind is right. I am going to pull the card when I walk to spot and check it out after I get settled in the tree. We will see what happens. Maybe this will make me want a few of my own. Some good looking bucks guys! I finally got a picture of a decent buck. It's nice to know there is 1 in a area I can hunt. He is just a nice 8 pt with small brows. I still need to down load the card on the computer. So when I do I will post up the pic. My last 2 sits were deerless, so time to keep moving. I have been having some good luck on the public land and probably stick with it for now. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
My opener is Saturday. Supposed to be windy but that is pretty much par for us. I haven’t scouted or trail camera pics of any true wall hangers, but I got a few mid 120’s and possibly low 130’s around. I will go out this weekend with photography as the primary goal, but if the right one presents me with a good shot and hits me in the right mood, I might attempt a harvest. I am in a two buck area and for all intents and purposes, all the doe a guy would want.
Some average 8pts. on the camera, but nothing large yet. Went out for the first time last night....activity in the corn was heavy, but not by my stand. Hopefully soon....
So have any of you guys been out? Seeing anything? Anyone getting out this weekend? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
