Mine is that I’m not real enough of a hunter, LOL just kidding Brandon!! But seriously I would have to say my biggest weakness is my damn phone. (LFTS thread) It really occurred to me my first two sits of the season, how often I was reaching for the phone. I really need to work on it because I’m sure it’s going to cost me a shot soon if it hasn’t yet already that I don’t know about. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Over hunting the same spots, I’ve spread out a little more this season. Have 8 stands on 3 different properties + my climber. So I have more options. Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
Two things that are related: 1. Just taking off and going to sit in a tree stand. 2. Getting things I should be doing instead of hunting off my mind while I'm in the tree stand. I'm not sure I've ever failed to take down a few animals when I really committed myself to getting it done. I just feel like I'm slacking off work when I take time to go. When you get behind on farm work it's costly and hard to catch up.
Food source identification. Im horrible at identifying trees and stuff. Ha Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Probably for me it's getting less alert as the season goes along. I seem to lose focus as the season progresses. And my phone! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
For me it's getting into my own mind and over thinking the situation. I had so many hunts if I just trust my gut, I would have shot a deer. Mostly has to do with my final pick of tree. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Good one!! I even downloaded a tree/plant identification app, but haven’t used it yet! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So...knowing some of our weaknesses, what are we going to do to change them and turn them into a positive? (Can you tell I'm going to be a therapist?) me: Starting on my hunt thursday, I am going to limit myself to only check my phone once every two hours. Start small!
Getting married to a spot instead of just moving on Not sitting till noon Feeling restless and not like a statue
My biggest limiter right now would probably be physical. Suffered a major injury to my left leg and ankle as well as had a hernia repair not long ago. The combined down time made me fat. Or more so, me not trying to be somewhat active while I was down for so long made me fat. Working it off, slowly but surely. Strengthening that leg every day!
Mine is my bed feels so good, I just decided to sleep in and just hunt the evening hunts. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
My hearing is rough too. Too much work in loud environments. I’ll add to my physical problems, I also have a degenerative eye disease. It effects both of my eyes but my right eye is significantly worse than my left. I’m legally blind in that eye with or without glasses. I have to wear expensive, custom made hard contacts that I insert with small plungers to be able to see. With those contacts I have 20/20 in my left eye and around 20/40 or so in my right, but my right is double vision. Without them, best I can get is around 20/40 in my left and the right is lost completely. These contacts also make my eyes very sensitive to dirt and dust. So I wear dorky goggles or sunglasses when I’m in the desert hunting. I’m right handed too. So I shoot everything left handed for the most part. I can still shoot a shotgun half way decent right handed. But iron sights and scopes are a no go for my right eye with its double vision.
DOES...old nanny does...I will hunt them instead of bucks! lol! I can pass on bucks all day, but get a doe around me and I can't handle it...It's a chess match with the old huzzie
