I’m not trying to be. I’m trying to get you to realize that not everyone’s situation is the same. Some folks have to bait. Texas is almost entirely private property. And public land is EXTREMELY pressured and crowded. People buy hunting leases or private property for crap tons of money. So yeah, they’re going to try and make sure that game animals come onto their expensive lease or ranch. Baiting animals is a long standing practice that goes back as far as history itself. Or hunting with a pack of dogs. Although you don’t see dogs used like that very much anymore We don’t bait here, as it’s illegal, but there are 15-20+ million acres of public land here to hunt on with a state lottery for many types of tags. Not something available to people in densely populated states like our neighbors in Texas.
I have no idea what is going on here myself alot of people are just blowing up ike children this is not Twitter this is for Hunters to talk Bows and Hunting is the world that bad ? Rebel
No sir, no "real hunters" here like you...sorry, maybe try Archery Talk. I hear they really like rooster lollipops over there.
The great thing about this forum is that its NOT Facebook and NOT Instagram. Bunch of good dudes, talking about bow hunting. If you are trying to prove something, I suggest you try Facebook. If I want a good laugh I head over to the Rant Thread, and if I need opinions on strategy I openly ask fellow hunters. So save your energy and head over to Facebook for drama.
Just not very bright. Although, I do agree with some of his statements. I don't consider baiting for deer hunting. However, baiting black bear, predators, or hogs is necessary for land management and nuisance control. With hard work and actually getting in the woods you can track deer and setup an ambush on a trail or another tactic, with work. But, many people bait and spend a lot of money on baiting. It's a hobby for a trophy buck, a rich mans sport to kill something. I will say that people who bait and spend tons of money on it do frustrate me when they celebrate their kill that costs them x amount of $$. Or the youtube personalities that talk about how well of a hunter they are when they have access to amazing private land with bait traps, salt licks, man-made trails for the deer, etc. Its not hunting! It's raising! The backwoods man has a point there, 100%. Many, if not all, of us do not NEED to hunt. I do not bait. I go into the woods for the experience and sanctuary. It also helps regulate my marriage. I don't go for only a trophy buck. I go for what tags I have. I have bear hunted without bait, albeit not very successful yet. But, I found tracks and scat, and attempted to track the animal as far as I could. It was highly enjoyable and rewarding. I don't think killing something over bait is enjoyable or rewarding. (let me place this disclaimer...if you are baiting to rid a nuisance than my opinion changes but if you're baiting just to fill a tag and brag I oppose). That's just me. My method of hunting makes me happy. We are all individuals and have opinions. What I consider hunting you may not, what I don't consider hunting you may find enjoyable. Actually, I just placed an order for a ton of food from Pizza Hut that should be here just in time for the start of 1pm games!
Killed my first archery deer at 10, on AZ public land, sitting alone in a natural ground blind, over a water hole. That's REAL! Now I hunt Ohio suburban lots over bait...
