I'm back! As hard as I tried, I could not drink all the tequila in Florida, I made a valiant effort but failed. I'm trying to catch back up at work so I'll be offline a little until I get everything in order, not easy being the go-to guy in the office. Heading to Illinois this weekend to do a half ass scout session, I'm not touching my Tennessee spots until opening day. If the heat is still on I may even pass on opening weekend, I think I've done more harm than good in previous years sitting in the heat. We are supposed to get a cool field level end zone suite at the Austin Peay football game that Saturday too, perk of being the dance coach's husband. I am switching my 300gr arrows for 340s, I shot some old 340s and they are stacking on each other, so thank you to the guys that mentioned the arrows were too stiff. I have to reset the HHA tape, there is too much of a difference in impact between the arrows weight to "wing-it"; more practice doesn't hurt. Other than that, I believe I am ready to go, I need to wash and do some final scent control tasks and it's go time. Glad to see some deer in the dirt, good luck to all!
Haven't got to hunt the past couple days. Been busy working, but tomorrow morning I have a chance to hunt for a couple hours. I'm heading to a bedding location where I watched a decent buck a couple weeks ago. There's a cool front coming in tomorrow evening through Saturday, so I'm hoping it will get the bucks up and moving a little more.
Man 50 degrees this morning, wish I was in the tree right about now not heading to work! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
45' here today... getting the itch! Not the poison ivy itch. Thankfully, i've never had it... hopefully I never do. That's a great buck above... crazy here with work. Mom just had major surgery yesterday. She's doing pretty well after considering she was pretty much completed gutted for 7.5 hours yesterday. Crazy, unfortunately they did find something else that now needs to be addressed after this mess heals. ugh.. getting old sucks. week and a half until the youth hunt an then NY starts. Hope to get some pics from there this weekend!
I’ll keep your family in my prayers! Hope she as a speedy recovery! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

Just did a camera check and haven’t had any bucks coming through in the last couple weeks Sent using Smoke Signals
Probably Fibromatosis, it's quite common in deer and is kind of like chicken pox in humans. They usually get it once and it's "rare" they will get it again but is possible. No issue if you harvest her, cut around that spot and discard it, the rest of the deer is safe.
Good luck! I'm hoping to get to at least one of my farms this weekend to check cameras and do a little stand work. I'm woefully unprepared for the IL season to start. If I kill a deer here it will be a miracle.
My son will be hunting the Eastern Shore this weekend also. He's going to be helping a Farmer friend with some equipment to secure us a few more spots to hunt next season! I got about 3 weeks till I head that way.

got my MD license today, looks like i will be in the tree by 5am tomorrow after a short hour drive, hopefully put a doe down!
Hate to hear that, hope everything heals quickly for her. 7 days for me, heading to Illinois tomorrow to scout some public land and look at a cheap 43acre lease that has access to a land locked piece of Shawnee national Forrest. Neighbors don’t allow access or hunting on their property and the other neighbor is a friend with his own acreage, seems like a good deal. Here are sheds that were found on the borderline of the property, probably a rare set, the potential is there.
Been way too hot in MD to hunt. 85+ until the first week of October. The farmer I lease from wants deer gone and it’ll happen but this weather needs to chill out (literally). Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
