Checked cams today. Worked out timing wise and figured a week to relax anything from me being through. Not too impressive. Not sure if the medium ones from earlier just didn’t get onto pics and definitely nothing big. Doe/fawn/spike and a little barely 8. Hoping something surprises me come first sit, but in all honesty barring that there won’t be a ton of holding back. Think I got the new arrows dialed in and more than itching to see how they go. Attitude is everything!!! You gotta believe. I've had my 2 cams sit for 2 weeks at a time in the past, with very little to show. It's a bummer, but I know that all deer in my area don't necessarily walk past my cams.
I remember this day as clearly as yesterday. I remember standing in my living room watching the news on television as I often did upon waking up after my night shift. I remember seeing that a plane had crashed into the WTC and thinking, " What a tragic accident" . I then remember, while glued to the tv, watching as the second plane crashed into the second tower and now thinking, " The US is under attack". I remember not a single plane in the sky for several days after, I remember all the frantic digging for weeks after, I remember the parade of funerals and walls of photos of loved ones lost.
2 days until the 14th. I'm headed south tonight after work so I can check stands and cams tomorrow. I'll be standing in a tree Saturday an hour before shooting time just waiting for 0609 hrs.

We’ll be disappointed too Enjoy some sits and it’ll happen. My hopes are low for size from last cam check but standards may follow. I’ll be disappointed if don’t get anything for the season but beyond that kids are pumped so we’ll make the best of it. I do too. My dad worked about a block away, has his own story, I remember my mom pulling me out of school and seeing the fighter jets flying around on the way home. I remember my mom telling me to go downstairs and play and I turned on the tv and saw what was going on. It was crazy. My dad and were on the roof of one of the twin towers just a few months before for my birthday. He made it home in the middle night and was filthy. Its crazy talking to him about it now, he remembers everything in such vivid detail. Totally changed his life. I work as a middle school teacher and used to give a speech about it, tell the kids my story. Its crazy how uninterested they are about it-in fairness I teach middle school so they were not born yet.
anyway back to bowhunting... Gonna head back out to the piece of public and check out a different area. maybe move one camera and see if we can put a plan together for next month...3 weeks away

So far the NJ cams show a bunch of does and this little feller. Oh and one stolen camera so far. Not sure why people need to be that way. I'm not worried about the lack of bucks on camera though. The last two bucks I shot at this location I never had on camera and I shot them during the pre rut during my October trip.
