There is in NJ and I'll be here for it but the Governor banned bear hunting on public land and that's all I hunt in NJ so I'm out of luck.

Soooo, the bear or person that messed with my stand got me on my feet and looking around. I found these. Needless to say I moved the entire setup 200 yds further into the woods on the runway leading to those rubs

He’s nice but maybe a low 140” 4.5 yr old?? Whites around the eyes and a decent body got me thinking he might have a little age to him.

Could be a stud next yr. He’s spindly up hight - he gotta walk this year around here. Problem is parcels are fairly small other Hunter’s won’t be so selective with him.

I really don’t think he pushes much more than high 130”s

I think you’re right for him. Also do think another year would add a chunk on him, although I’m not a good resource for knowledge. I’d definitely be the less selective neighbor to worry about if near :)

That's a great 8pt! Bucks don't get to live to 4.5 years around here very often. I'd be that neighbor as well.

Do we have anyone on the team who is into graphics? Maybe we could get some kind of a team avatar set up?
Maybe a typical 10pt rack with 2 drop tines?

Did some scouting on some new public today, found a nice rub line in a saddle right where it was supposed to be, threw a camera up and we will see... will reach out this week to get some private permission...fingers crossed as I cant seem to figure out public yet.

I am not a graphic guy by any means, it would look like something my son brings home from school and wants my wife and I to hang on the fridge lol. I got a stand cleaned out on Saturday that needed it badly! Lanes trimmed and new straps put on the stand. The first big cold front with a W-NW wind in November I will be in it. It’s come to be one of my favorite stands that I only hunt a few times a year. Last year the first time in I saw 6 different bucks a hand full of does before 8 am and end up punching my second Michigan tag at 8:03 on this guy. Image1568032572.434716.jpg

Think I'm heading out to trim a few lanes and check a few cameras after work today... Hopefully have a few nice photos to share.

Thank you! I’m hoping my season this year is just half as good as it was last year. I had two buck tags in Michigan and one buck tag in Missouri and was fortunate enough to fill them all. And to top it off my public land Missouri buck was by biggest to date. Image1568050907.975504.jpg Image1568050932.727693.jpg Image1568051025.122791.jpg

No good buck photos from 2 cams with a lot of photos that have been soaking for 20+ days...

Kinda been the trend this year. I don’t know what I’ll do this year. Probably harvest a doe early and then just sit back and wait for my outfitter hunt.

Never know, always a chance they’re not making it on cam. Probably too optimistic but I tell myself that sometimes. At least outfitter should turn up something. Or later season something new comes through

My place is good until the velvet comes off, then the deer leave. They then cruise through during the rut alot during the day.. Late November through December 15 they then settle in at my place for all the feed from the plots and apple trees. Then they leave again for the Winter Deer Yard. Just how it is and not much I can do about it. From now till the end of October my cams usually go pretty dead.

Ya both of my cams are on well frequented mineral licks that bucks have visited on the regular in the past... This year they just haven't hit them as often. The property owner had this logged two years ago - now this year they've got some people in clearing and spraying invasives. The deer are pretty use to human traffic in general because the property neighbors a large mountain bike park but the pressure has been pretty intense over the last 3 years.

On one hand I love what the property owner is doing as far as working to improve the habitat and browse - it can only help in the long run. In the short term it's been pretty disruptive I've got to believe.
