Big and abundant. The giant red oaks in my yard (in Columbus) started dropping this week.

Yep yep he’s right the nuts are dropping for sure in my yard too. Beans are great and corn is tall! Might be a late harvest this year due to the bad rain early spring but it’s looking good here in Ohio

I usually head east... Dillon, Coshocton, AEP. Being a city slicker means hunting public land. I’ll hunt Delaware and Alum Creek from time to time, but so do the rest of the hunters that live in the city of 1.5M people lol.. They get hammered pretty hard.

I was worried the mast crop would be abundant. hard to hunt when all the trees have nuts. A late crop is good though. Thanks for the info

Well a little hint, there a few small patches of public land over here at Indian lake an NO ONE hunts them. Everyone around here has land or permission. And there are some NICE bucks at the lake. My daughter and I waked the public land last year and we found a nice 120” 9 point skull. So my advice would be if you find some land around state route 117 by I think o conners point... I would hunt that

No problem man, plus you’ll find Indian lake itself is a pretty awesome place. They do a duck blind drawing every year as well if you into that

I'm here, waiting for my kids cross country, volleyball and soccer seasons to be over. I'm hoping to go out after work Monday for the first time. Looks like morning rain, it will still be cool out then warm up a little the rest of the week.

Had a great first this this evening. Had a basket 8 at last light 15 yards followed by 4 does at 20 yards. Might hunt this piece of public more often

Well, I was able to catch up with Mr. Brows on 11/13. He came in from a picked bean field at 1530. He responded to my grunt call from about 100yds. He came into some thick stuff where I hadn't cleared an opening. He was downwind and I really think he got my scent. But when he stopped, there was a very small opening I could shoot through. One step either way and I would have had no shot. He was at 40yds quartered to. I put it right in front of his shoulder and touched it off. The blood began spraying immediately and I knew he was finished. He ran 20yds and fell over. What a great hunt and I loved having all that history with this deer.
