Tornados you go to the basement, but hurricanes flood the basement. I dunno man. Hopefully it fizzles out and you just get some heavy wind and rain. Tornados are weird, they’ll follow a drainage ditch for miles, jump out and just tear **** all to hell.
No basement at the coast - water table is too high. And the first floor has break away walls which are designed to fall off the house and float away in a big storm surge. Basically the idea is you sacrifice the first level and let it wash away so that the water can flow under the upper floors and doesn’t wash away the whole house. It’s a pretty good design for hurricanes but I don’t think it’ll fare too well in a tornado. Even the staircase is designed to fall off and all the bathrooms have showers instead of tubs so that basically rules out all the standard places you’re supposed to go for shelter during a tornado. On the bright side, we have 4 cases of beer between two of us so if **** does go down then at least we will be drunk enough to not give a ****. And it looks like the hurricane is going to be gone by tomorrow afternoon so assuming everything goes alright and the roads are still passable then I’m good to go for opening day on Saturday! Plus I am betting that the deer are going to be hungry and on the move big time after spending a couple days hunkered down waiting out the storm.
It’s actually going to be clearing out of here by tomorrow night so the morning hunt on opening day is looking really promising to me. Hopefully the roads will be passable. All my ground blinds are flimsy pop up blinds so I am assuming that they’re all goin to be shredded, but hopefully at least a few of my treestands survive. Hopefully it’ll clear up early enough for me to get out there tomorrow afternoon to survey the damage and see which stands are still usable. Worst case scenario I just take my climber and improvise.
I was thinking a case of beer and a fifth of fireball per person to ride it out, but I didn’t know if youn’s were drinkers or not lol
Good to hear brother, some things are more important then hunting. 8-28-2018 tornado hit my area, I was on the way home from work. My Family was in the basement riding out the storm. I took me two hours to drive 8 miles because of either down trees or down powerlines. We got lucky and nothing fell onto the house. Everything on our deck was destroyed, and many trees were gone plus the power was off for 3 days. Really brought our commmunity together. Stay safe..
Sorry, things have been crazy around here, though not hurricane crazy. I like cross country killers! And shawn, no one is jumping to captain, you have my vote. So I'm in Iowa, our season starts October 1st. Last year I shot a doe but didn't recover, never could get a shot on my #1 buck. Killed a button buck and a doe with shotgun. We've been hit pretty hard by EHD the last few years, so big bucks have been pretty hard to come by for me of late. We'll see what happens this year. Good luck with the storm, I'll have a glass of whiskey for you tonight!! Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
Crazy night but all good. Got 4 pine trees and a live oak down in the yard but nothing hit the house. Cutting them up is gonna have to wait cause I got a hot date with a couple does and bucks this weekend.
Going to play around with back grounds and colors, names will go above XCK, here’s what I have so far. I’m up for any back ground ideas but the kind of have to be solidish
See if you can save them straight from that and if they’ll load as an avatar. They should, i resized them all after making them
Well it looks like no one else wants it and I don't want to, but I would if I had to, so unless someone steps up here real soon say it's yours, lol. I'll help out in everything I can.
Hey Art, I think you and I were team mates a few years back on a different site. I think it was bowhuntohio. I was manofthefall.
