Season opens for us in October but if you hunt specified zones (expanded) it starts September 9th. Luckily I have a few expanded spots!
I'm checking in relax, I"m trying to get caught up. This year i'm hunting Wisconsin, and then I'm going to Washington to hunt Elk with the Rifle. I have a couple good ones on camera, but i'll post some pictures another time. Last year I killed two does. I'll be out grinding season starts in mid September. I hunt public mostley, but I have some nice private land spots I'll hunt a couple times a year. Looking forward to the contest again this year!
Can't sleep. Trying to think of some team names that fit us. Cross Country Buck Hunters and now my mind is blank already, lol.
I decided the primary bow will be the Vertix, 60lb 28 draw with a 424 grain built arrow. The Triax will be the blind bow due to the shorter ATA, Triax 65lb 28 draw with a 463 grain built arrow Let the games begin !!!! Dave
Here are some idea's for team Name. I like Antler Addicts or Silent Assassins. Wall Hangers Buck Shots Deer Mafia Antler Addicts Team Animal Control Silent Assassins Dave
I like some of those, but most I know have been used in the past. Let's try and come up with something new and unique.
Brow tine cowboys (like Rhinestone Cowboy) was all I came up with. I like the cross country idea, maybe Cross Country Killers?
According to the most recent weather forecast it looks like I might have a hurricane to contend with on opening day. I guess that means tree stands are out and I’m going to need to carry extra stakes and rope to hold my ground blinds down.
Sorry, wasn’t up on my posts. I’m from NY, eastern side. I like the browtine cowboy name. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Spent three hours today finalizing some stand placement and setting up a few more cameras..............boy did the old man sweat !!! Came home and got bored, decided to setup my old Bear Agenda 6. That thing is a beast at 65 lb and a 460 grain arrow. Fast fast fast, blew through the target, hit fence post and exploded the arrow !!! Dave
Well I just finished broad head tuning the Vertix. Decided to try mechanical this year, Swhacker 100 grain 2 inch cut. The tuning took all of 3 minutes. They hit exactly the same as field points. Next will be the Triax, hope it goes as good as the Vertix. Dave
What fixed blades were you running before? I’ve never had any bad luck with mechanicals, but I like to keep some fixed blades on hand for anytime I’m on the ground, like to and from the stand if it’s not dark. And geeeez how many hunting bows do you have!?
