Have you tried it? How did it do? Ive seen one made with a Dremel, but it was kind of underpowered, the die grinder/cut-off tool seems like a good remedy for that.

Looks better than my Die grinder with a cut disc.

I have used a generic Dremel. The diameter of the cutoff wheel doesn't allow me to cut a few inches off at first. I cut at an angle within an inch of so from where the square cut is to be made. Then I make the final cut.

I saw some people use a mini cut off saw from harbor freight. It has a little vise attached and everything. Has anyone tried this?

Yes. That is exactly what I do. You still need a squaring tool as the cuts on mine are not always well square. I only make a few arrows new a year so, it works great. I have discs that I believe were specifically sold to cut carbon arrows better then the standard disc.

Is this what you bought? I do not see a vise listed with it on the website. What type of blades did you buy?

I'm sorry I did not get back you or this thread. I checked out for a while. I do have the mini chop saw. I believe I might have sourced the blades on Ebay. I can dig them up and check for a # on them if needed.

Here is mine. $35 harbor freight saw and some scrap wood. I never change my arrow length so I just jigged a static holder for my saw length.[IMG]
