Checking in from Texas fellas. Got a busy season scheduled starting with my annual trip back home to Wyoming on Wednesday. I’ll be trying to put a mule deer on the ground starting on 9/1. I’ll be stopping on the way through Kansas to check some cameras and put out a few more. I have a Kansas hunt planned the end of October and then a special draw Texas hunt for November 1-3. Back to Kansas on November 5-11 and then back to my lease in Oklahoma for the rest of the year. Season closes there on 1/15/20. Looking forward to the season and getting to know you guys.

I too would remind everyone to read the rules. It’s super frustrating to miss out on a score because someone failed to take a second picture or include their bow. Also, and I can’t say this enough...if you plan to take a doe take one early and get it done. Most years the winning team racks up the does. :)

I don’t have much on my lease yet in Oklahoma but stuff moves a lot when the acorns start falling and the velvet comes off.

Make sure you get in touch with Shane0709, if I recall he shoots some really nice bucks :)

I've been a captain in the past, time to pass the torch onto someone else.

Sitting at work trying not to think about where the big bucks wandered off to. I dont know that I'll actually hunt the opener, but this whole patience thing is killin me. Work sucks also.

My camera's have been soaking for 4 or 5 weeks now, cant wait to get back to the property to check them. I will share some pic's when I have them in my hand. We have a really great neighbor at the property that has shared some pictures with me, we usually have all the same deer on camera so I have a pretty good idea of whats around. Nothing huge yet but some pretty good deer running around.

That's cool that your neighbor shares intel. I'm thankful none of my neighbors hunt! I have one buck in particular this year that is something special, but his pic will not be shared here. Second option is my profile pic, but I usually have a parade of different bucks show up mid to late Oct. Who knows, but it sure is a lot of fun! Looking forward to your pics and I'll probably share some later tonight when I can get some pulled off of SD cards.

I hung a cell cam the other weekend and 3 regular cams. Cell cam has been sending a copious amount of does and some 2 1/2 year olds.

I'm originally from MA but recently moved to RI. I'll still be hunting in MA because I'm not familiar with RI yet. I've got four cameras with modems out there got some pictures of nice bucks but nothing consistent. Lot's of doe which is good. It looks like we have a pretty good team!

Whats up boys?! I will do a little update on myself and my hunting related activities later, but I just wanted to do a quick check in and say hey while I'm in class. I have been pretty absent on here recently because I just got settled down here in SC for college. Glad to be on a team with y'all...It's gonna be an awesome season :)

Edit: I'm the last to check in?! Sheesh, well that's embarrassing. Sorry for the delay lads. With seasons around the corner I should be much more prompt lol.

It is a good team! If we can all stay active and at least kill does, we will be in the running. I am not only hunting in MO, but I'm headed to Ohio Oct 13this for a weekend hunt. That trip will be a lot of luck tho.

Any saddle hunters? This is my second year with one. So I made a video (my first) learned a couple things from it.
    #1- my stand is noisy
#2- I have to color code my lines.

So here’s the video, it’s me so be kind to this 66 year old man. I hope you enjoy it!

I actually just watched a friend who is a professional tree trimmer use his and it blew my mind how fast and easy he made it look. Then again that is his job. It does interest me, though. Always looking for a way to cut weight.

Nice Crocs by the way. I have the same pair.

I have not tried this but my dad (a pro tree guy) was doing this stuff in the mid 90's with his saddle, ropes and spurs. Too bad he didn't try to market the idea toward the hunting industry back then. Since I followed his footsteps climbing and cutting trees, it would probably be an easy transition for me. Although I haven't climbed a tree that way in over 7 years.
