    Just put my viper tricks on and nockturnals, they are hitting right with my field points out to 50yds... 24 days till Jersey opens, cannot wait!!!

    As a "weekend warrior" I couldn't even imagine having Sunday's closed for hunting here in Tx :confused:. It's already bad enough when time changes and I lose my after work hunts on Friday's. That's awesome news for you though man.

    TN velvet hunt is this weekend but my annual Michigan golf scramble in memory of my friend killed in Iraq in 06 is this weekend, so I'll be drinking beers and crushing...whacking...balls? I don't know golf lingo, I'll send some pics though, bunch of us army grunts get drunk and attempt to play golf, it gets a little wild.

    Archery elk season opens August 30th. Tuned and sighted in my new hunting arrows with 125 grain field points a couple of weeks ago. This last weekend I shot broad heads, they were hitting a little off from my field points so a bit more tuning was done. Sighted in and hitting with field points now, can't wait to get into the elk woods!

    May your drought end this season!

    General archery season starts that day in my state, but there are a couple of WMAs that open for bow on September 21. One is near my home, but I've decided against hunting there at that time because the ticks and chiggers are more active that time of year.

    Fifteen days until I head to Kentucky for the 07 September opener.

    I see some folks talking about their "rut-cation". Since this will be my first real deer season since retiring, my "deer-cation" starts 01 September in Kentucky and ends 28 February in Arkansas.

    I have the tags. Here's hoping I can afford the gas bill.

    I’m not sure what you mean by 01 September opener in KY. Maybe you know something I don’t know but I thought the KY season came in on September 7th. Please explain.

    Well crap! You are correct. It doesn't open until the 7th. Last year it opened on the 1st.

    Now I have an entire extra week to wait I'm sure I would have noticed soon, but thanks for the info.

    I'll go back and edit my post to avoid more confusion.

    Yea our season comes in the first Saturday in September. I was wondering myself if they were going to bring it in on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend (which makes too much sense) but they kept with the first Saturday crap. Leave it to KDFWR to display blatant stupidity. They are nothing if not consistent.
