A long shot but interested to see where they could improve from the triax and vertix. Any imput or ideas of what we can expect. I have shot many new Mathews bows but still shoot my heli-m. I just can't give up the low profile. Shoots like a charm. This also is coming from someone who shot the switchback XT for 6 or 7 seasons before upgrading. With the cycle I am at I am due for a winning bow in my book.
It seems as though new bow technology makes it easier for the owner to do bow modifications and more user friendly. Allowing you to change your bow with your changing hunts/species/distances, etc. without having to go to the bow shop every time. You can always try and squeeze another fps in there, or make a bow smoother and easier to draw heavier poundage.
I'll be honest, the Vertix is going to be hard to beat. I know they will come out with something, but it's just a great bow. I'd like it to be a little longer ATA, but it shoots great. I like that you can now order it in 5lb increments instead of 10.
The have a longer Vertix - it's called the Traverse. I have zero idea what's in store for next year, but I do know the goal at Mathews is to produce the most accurate bows that are enjoyable to shoot. Small advances in material types, machining process, cam technologies and bow geometry will continue to make incremental increases in these areas and make bows "better" each year. I love my Vertix, but man, I have a hard time putting that Traverse down. Mine is backed down to 60 lbs and set up for shooting 20 yard targets, and I absolutely love it. I keep telling myself I need to shoot the Vertix more to get ready for hunting season, but still find myself gravitating to the Traverse.
I need to shoot one! I have a hard time giving up my Switchback XT! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I gave mine up for the heli-m. I still kept my heli-m even after shooting the newer bows this past year. Just interested to see where they will put focus on improving the next bow.
Just bought a Traverse two weeks ago and I really like it. I never really cared for my Halon. I didn’t really like the feel and balance of the Vertix but then I’m predisposed to liking longer bows. I’d recommend the Traverse to anyone that is shopping for a new bow.
I’m in a dilemma now where I am not sure if I should go ahead and buy a Vertix here soon or wait until the new releases in November. I feel like whatever comes out isn’t going to be that much of a difference but I wouldn’t be the one to know. This will be my first bow. Any suggestions or anyone have an idea what will the new release be like?
If it is your first bow I would head to an archery shop nearby and shoot some different brands and years and see for yourself what you like.
Yea I shot the traverse, vertix, and tx-5 and liked the vertix the best. I didn’t shoot anything else from other companies. Just have my eyes set on Mathews.
