He is super cool for sure. Officially I’m putting him at number 3 for now.

As of right now, The one I call Timber and the one I call PG-13.

Unfortunately my top 2 deer from last year are both MIA. So I’m basically starting over with deer I’m after

Idk how you guys can maintain such a great herd of big deer with so many buck tags handed out.

You forget that by comparison to the east coast, there aren’t nearly as many hunters here. Less than 4% of people in Iowa hunt. And the DNR limits nonresident tags substantially, which is the biggest factor

So you’re saying that when I finally pull the trigger on my 4 preference points it’ll be a slam dunk then. Woohoo!

If I remember correctly, you didn't show your #1 last year. If he stays MIA will you be posting pics? I'd love to see what he looked like. If not, I understand, just curious.

If he stays gone this year entirely then yes I will eventually.

But in full disclosure I didn’t share my #2 deer last year either.

Checked a bunch of cameras today!

Texas is looking pretty impressive. Started G4s at the end of June. Unfortunately I don’t know what he look like now because some jackwad tresspasser opened my camera and left it hanging open on the tree since 7/18, so I don’t have any pictures of him since then.

Hawkeye...is something really special in the making. Im convinced he is 4 years old. He has turned into a phenomenal clean 6x6 typical. He is at the very top of the do not shoot list this year. Plenty of old deer to go after and I honestly think he has 190”+ typical potential if he makes it one more year.

A few more cameras checked yesterday. Had a new buck show up on a creek crossing on one of the new farms. I think I’m gonna call him the Glen-Del buck.
