Hey lets start complaining about how hot is gonna be for opening day bow season. NC will be in the 90s still I 100 percent guarantee it. Yes I get it, opportunity to hunt just getting out there, I get it, but holy crap we've had a record highs this year so I can only imagine how hot its gonna be opening day, but non the less I'll be out that Saturday for sure. So there it is I just bitched about the heat already
It’s been hot here in St Louis but not horrible. We’ve definitely had way hotter but it’s not over yet. The heat is the only thing I despise about early season. Love the early season activity. They aren’t spooky and on edge yet and killing them early makes for a pretty mount
Put a ground blind in a cold creek and hunt with half your body submerged. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Biscuit I'm currently working an overtime detail in 100 degree weather only to be continuously flanked by grown men playing Pokemon. Hell on earth. So I hear your complaints about the heat. I'm close to finding a local pool and jumping in with all my equipment on. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I hunt hogs a couple of times a month in 90 degree heat. It’s not that bad once you get used to it. Just kidding. It sucks lol
Early season in Oklahoma can have some 90° days but I'm not so much concerned about the heat as I am the mosquitoes. It's like those little blood sucking jerks know when a deer is in front of you and you cannot move, feeding frenzy. Thermacell purchased.
Sure will be hot here in SC as well come september 15. I remember sweating my butt off last September. Still hoping for a not so mild winter this year.
We can hunt for ~4 months, 4.5-5 if you urban archery hunt. Take the lumps from the early temps or hunt the first /last few hrs of the day. We really have nothing to complain about.
Much like Okie, I am in south east texas.... I'll have highs in the 90's going 2-3 weeks sometimes into October for us. Hell, I feel like if it gets below 60 for a LOW, we're doing good and that's in November sometimes haha.
I hear ya! I grew up in MA, but only hunted in MA one season. The season is way too short. CT public land season length is bad enough from sept-15 to Nov-19th. (Glad they extended it almost a week this year!!!!!!!)
The temps here in SE Missouri have been really tough on me this summer. Being retired now I have to run my air conditioner almost 24/7 to stay comfortable. When I do venture outside the heat makes it pretty miserable out in my bass boat. Bow season starts 01 September in Kentucky and the high temps then are almost always in the mid to high 90's with high humidity. It's freakin' miserable but it's my best chance at that ever-elusive velvet buck so I'll be out.
